I wouldnt wish this on anyone.
Just got done with 3 days at the hospital with my son logan. he is now about 2 months old. He is still there but i had to get back to work, i gotta save some time off for when he has his valve replacement.
His mytral valve which is deformed and has been regurgitating his blood backwards is only sending about 50% of the blood forward and 50% backwards. In 2 weeks his left ventrical (i think it is the ventrical) has expanded to 3 times its normal size. With all the bloodflow issues it gave him Pulminary Ademia (water in the lungs). And to top it off his overenlarged ventrical is blicking airflow through his left main bronchial tubes. Oh yeah, and also all these issues with delivering oxygen to his tissues has left his blood acidic so they had to give him a blood transfusion.
So now he is drugged and passed out in the hospital, he has tubes running in and out of damn near every orafice.
If we waited even another day to get him to the hospital he would have died that night.
The good news is that after several days of taking a serious nosedive he is finally starting to turn around. His color is looking good, they have been reducing the amount of air given to him in the airtube and he is starting to breathe more on his own, and the pressure in his enlarged ventrical is gone.
He still has water in his lungs though and will be in the hospital for a few more days.
Logan still has the strength to knuckle up and give props to his homies though

I consider you a friend and I hurt for you. You have done so much for our community here and I know that EVERYONE is thinking about you and your family.
I can also relate as my daughter when she was 11 months old spent 6 months in a hospital and way too much of the time on a ventilator. It is REALLY scarey-*** ****. I bet it is also hard for you to see your son's mom in pain. I think dad's get hit hard with this stuff because they feel for their kids but also the mother.
Your son won't remember any of this ****. I hope things continue to improve and all of you can get home where you belong.

Jack, you have my prayers for a 100000% recovery and a long and healthy life. No father should EVER have to go through this and I respect you immensely for dealing with this as well as you are.

So, logan is gonna be taken off the breathing tube soon. so far everything is looking on the up and up. still needs the valve replacement, but we are hoping to bring him home in a week or so.
