Default boost and long trips?

Anyone with a supercharger ever taken a long trip.Up to about 10 hrs?On a stock bottom end i mean.I'm steadily saving money for a supercharger kit W/cooler and when it's installed I'd like to take a trip from Texas to Georgia.Just never heard of anyone driving that long of a distance with an aftermarket supercharger. Are there any issues to concider maybe like headunit temp problems?I just want to woop my brother in law's 91Gt.

Well I dont have a supercharger, but I have a TT set up. I drove for 7 hours from GA to NC and hand no problems what so ever. Just try to stay out of boost to keep your MPG up. Doing that I got 21mpg all the way home.

I drove mine from nashville to new orleons it was about an 8 hour trip one way. Had no problems at all. It got 19mpg doing about 90-100 the whole way there. I didnt get into boost much though. Youll be fine.

Driving a turbo or SC at highway cruise speeds is not much different that driving a car w/o one. Just watch your temps....it is running hot (which it should not), stay out of boost until it cools.

My car's water temp runs 170 - 190 degrees on the highway depending on outside temp, speed, and it there are hills. If I am on it, it can run 200 - 215.

generally, for me highway is better, more airflow means lower temps generally. I've never had a problem going 5+hours on my supercharged setup OR my TT setup

werd 3 days. what i did was dangerous, yes. sleep deprived and no hotel stays. each trip the first day on the road was a 22-24 hour drive gas and food thats it. sleep for about 4-5 hours at some truck stop. then do it all over again. my last trip the ex-wife drove a few times. then she hit a retread and lost her driving privledges.
