fuel upgrades

Default fuel upgrades

I am getting a supercharger system from boosthead.com and the man i talked to said I need a fuel upgrade. I'm new to superchargers, so if anyone could help I'd appreciate it.
I am getting the self oiling centrifugal supercharger that runs off of a belt from the alternator's extra pulley. this is only to create 6psi, but, i am not looking for a lot more power. I am running my sotck pump and injectors as of now.

I have a 1999 3.8l mustang
4.10 gears/tlok
212/218 billet cam w/915 beehive valve springs
granatelli motorsport tune

SVT Focus fuel pump
42 lb/hr injectors, or the 39's from an 03 cobra, they really flow like a 42 though.
SCT MAF or a Lightning 80mm MAF

That will do it and leave room to grow.

well what is the stock pump and injector size for a 99 3.8?

You know what I'm not totally sure. But I think 21 lb/hr for the injectors, as for the pump I honestly have no clue. But it won't pump enough for a blower. Oh and if you're getting a procharger which is what I'm assuming coming from the description of the self oiling system you said you should go 11 psi.

Stock injectors are 19lbs and stock pump is like 110lph. The SVT focus pump is a great easy direct swap out and flows enough to support 400-450rwhp (more then your car will need). You can get it from Randy in the Ford parts section near the top of the main forum page.

Injectors i would go 42#ers you can get them alot of places cheap. You dont need a new maf with 8psi your stocker will do fine, and your going to need to dyno tune that car and get rid of te ganitelli tuner.

the man custom makes the s/c for v6 mustangs. it is like a garage made kit (with warranty) he has sold quiet a few, but not many people know of it. i'd rather procharger or vortech myself, but they dont give prices of thier kits, so, why bother looking?

What? Yes they do just shop around or call vortech or procharger themselves.

Just took a look at their site. Looks like they sell electric superchargers along with eaton set-ups. I would think long and hard before giving this guy my money. And the fact that he does not accept credit cards or paypal puts up another big red flag...

yeah that website looks shady. You should buy from someone with an established reputation. I know justin at www.vmptuning.com sells complete kits and he is an expert on the 3.8 motor. if you look around you can find lots of other companies too.
