i had 141,xxx miles on my old engine and just had a new one put in and the guy that put it in said that my old one was bad and i "should get" a new one ... the engine when just idleing kinda shakes more than normal and he said it would take care of that, along with help some other things.. is he right?

well unless your getting a trouble code out of it, I'd ay no. the TPS Ford has used on 1994 up cars and trucks has been one of the most trouble-free TPS ever.
I'd be more suspect of the IAC valve causing your problems or a bad coil, sparkplug, plug wires or..........
