Default camshaft position sensor

Can you give me a quote on a camshaft position sensor for a 2003 GT? Also, the error code said it was on bank one...I'm assuming this is the drivers side, correct? Thanks Randy.

sure but your problem is prob not the Cam Sensor but a bad alternator, this comes up alot....a diode burns-out in the alternator, causes RF interfearence and trips the Cam Sensor..... but it's your call, Cam Sensor is $33.00 + s&h

I've gotten the code P0340 (camshaft timing sensor malfunction bank 1) a few times lately and also crankshaft timing sensor malfunction once recently. The car has 100k miles on it. If it is more likely to be a bad alternator, I would rather just replace that and leave the sensors as is. How common is it for a crank or cam sensor to go bad?

as far as sales go on the sensors, maybe 1 each a year and Im not 100% convinced they were a problem, now the alt are a different story, sell @ 4 a month

Is the $169.00 alternator a reman? If so, I was told by a local dealer that motorcraft uses the core case and puts all new internals inside. If so, I assume the only difference between the two is that the remaned one has an older case. Or is there some other difference between the two?

no there both considered a "remaned" unit, Im not 100% sure of the difference but I believe the higher priced one is built wth better parts....

Ok. Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to figure this out. My local dealership has two different alternators for my car, one that has an "appearance package" which the dealer stated probably means that its polished or something. Is that the situation here, or is there different internals?

Also, my winshield wiper fluid does not shoot at the winshield anymore. I believe it is common for the motor to go out...How much for this or whatever the problem may be here?

I have No idea what your dealer is calling an" appearance package" alternator as I've never heard of that term and FoMoCo does not off any kind of polished alternators, so I have no clue as to what the hell there talking about....I show 2 grades, one has cheaper internals than the other....and the washer pump is $24.99 to you, + s&h
