Default Cam

Hey I am looking into a cam for my car, I have no clue about them when it comes to compatibility etc. The only reason I want one is for sound change. Can someone tell me what kind of cam would work and what other parts go with it and a price. OR just tell me if its worth my time. Im mostly in to mods for Sound reasons

Get a good stereo set-up for sound...Swapping a cam for sound is retarded....

If you want to swap cams the reason you do it is for power, it will use more gas,and driveabillity in alot of cases gets a bit worse. Not worth it for someone who wants to just have a cam. But if you really do comp cams just came out with a "Thumper series" which is made just for people who want the sound with slightly better power but mostly normal motor operation. I dont think they make alot of profiles yet because they just started making them.

My advise dont bother with a cam swap.

its also a modular motor which sounds totally different then your pushrod. The cammed 3.8's sound pretty good.

Here are a few cammed 3.8's

I'll tell you what cheddarbob. When I get a shortblock built this summer with high compression, forged rotating assembly, P&P heads and intakes, and a custom cam I'll let you hear it in person.
