Default Well damn

So the little "courtesy notice" came in for my ticket today...

406 bucks is what it says..

"Speeding in a 65 mile per hour zone" is one..
"Object affixed to windshield/side windows" is the other..

I can see the speeding..I think its retarded since the douche saw that i was trying to get by all the 18 wheelers that wanted to go 45mph on the damn highway and everyone was behind them cause they were scared to go any faster due to knowing there was a CHP.. but whatever thats fine

The tint on my side windows is kinda retarded though... its like... 3% darker and it isn't to just give it the "cool look" I put tint on because during the summer its like 110 degrees outside and i wanted to block out SOME heat..

I just think its funny because the people with BMWs and the Mercedes get away with having tint on their side windows thats darker then the tint on my back window..

Whatever..I'll plee no contest .. hope that my bail gets lowered.. and make sure i stay behind the trucks that wanna drag *** down the highway

I dont think they can pull you over for your tint, but if they have you already pulled over then they always have the right to check it.

In Cali they can pull you over for tint. You can only have it a certain darkness on the front side windows and they are usually pretty strict about it.

yep, in cali they can pull you over for tint and nothing else. I think the law was put on the books at the request of law enforcement....think about it...if your a cop and pull a car over and your walking up to the vehicle and can't see the inside of the car at all you have no idea if there is some a-hole pointing a gun at you.

Yeah, I wish they would relax the law a little bit, but I also understand why it's there. I have a little tint on my front windows, but I haven't been pulled over yet.....just a matter of time.

You just gotta be quick at rolling the windows down if you see a cop, haha. I've heard that you can slightly tint the front windows and it be legal. This was coming from a cop. I think it boils down to how much tint and if the cop really wants to be a dick or not. Like jjtgiants said, I understand the whole concept of walking up to the car and not seeing the person, but a little less strict would be nice.

Wrong, at least wear I live anyway, I've been pulled over for window tint 3 times by three different cops, got one warning, a 263$ ticket, and a 400+$ ticket.

California law states you can't have ANY tint on your front windows, unless its factory. The law was passed Jan 1st 2000 ..

My arguement about the gun thing is..well..what about the guys with the BMWs or the Mercedes and their tint... and in LA.. you can pull a guy in a ferrari over..doesn't mean he won't be pointing a gun.

The tint law is pretty insane, but I also think that about the smog law... come to Kern County where the smog is worse then L.A.s or hell, go to LA.. its not helping anything..

I was on Hwy 99 when I was pulled over.. it just really irritates me..I honestly don't think he had a radar on me considering he was already driving and he was behind a 18 wheeler that was going **** slow.. but if he shows up in court he could give the b.s. and say "well i drafted behind him" which would be a lie..he caught me after i had slowed down to 65 and i was infront of the trucks..

I'm not bothering with fighting it..i'd lose more money..

Oh and my window tint is like a 3% shade.. i can still see through them at night time..
