Default 96 GT Check engine light update

Hey everyone!

I am back with another few questions regarding my check engine light. The second code (P0175 rich bank 2) is gone but, P0172 rich Bank 1 is still a pain in the butt and I can't seem to diagnose the issue. The front two O2 sensors before the cats have been replaced, but not the rear.

My tuner is not getting back to me and has dropped the ball in helping me get the tune emailed to me and sent to some of you or even SCT to see where adjustments could be made. OTherwise the caris running fine at the moment.

Does anyone no of any no nonsense shops in the south west and west area (arizona, nevada, idaho, etc) to go to. I am in need of a professional tuning as well. Any help with where to look on the Check engine light problem would be greatly appreciated. By the way, which side the is bank one by the way? The driver side or passenger side?

Thanks again everyone.

what mods are done to the car? do you have headers? did you buy oem Ford O2's or aftermarket ones?

There are FRPP Shorty ceramic headers, the O2 sensors are not ford brand and are actually bosch. It is a high compression 4.6 with full PI swap and forged internals. Do you suspect an exhaust leak?

Bank 1 is the passenger side. I would only ever use OEM replacement O2 sensors, for your year/make/model. Definitely check for an exhaust leak. Are you able to do any data logging?

My X2 has a data logging feature, but I am not sure how to use it. I will change out the o2 sensors with Ford ones and then check for the exhaust leak. Thanks

good idea as that year use a TDK brand O2 sensor, not Bosch. the Ford part # is F5MZ-9F472-AA and we have them in stock if you need them, $61.95 each + shipping

Thanks Randy!

The damn light came on three times in a two hour period this time showing both banks rich. Since it was cleared it has lasted the last almost 24 hours without it coming on. It is driving me nuts. I hope to get it fixed. Thanks again.

Got the car re-tuned finally. The car was reading ok according the wide band O2 sensor. My Air/ Fuel mix was 12.5-1. I didn't have very good dyno number after driving an hour to get to the shop in heavy traffic, but the torque was around 270 to the wheels which was a nice suprise with the new motor. Car seems to be running ok now (knock on wood). Thanks for all the help from everyone.
