Tires rubbing...can I lower it?
I have 17x9 rims and 275x40x17 tires all around. I had to put in 1GT steering rack limiter along side the stock v6 one for it to not rub in the front. Still, I think it is very close to rubbing. Is there any way to tell how much if any lowering springs will cause it to rub?
I think it rubbed on the K-member.
I would get either steeda sport springs or H&R sports.
Here are pics of where it rubbed:

Just by looking at it, it makes since that if it were lowered it might rub more...I just hope not.
Thanks!

Is it rubbing just when you have the wheel maxed to the left
It actually doesn't rub at all any more (or I haven't heard it). I put in an additional steering rack limiter so right now I have a v6 one in and a GT one in. This just makes it so I can't steer as much. Without the GT limiter it rubbed like crazy.
what the hell do you have on there??
wheels off bigfoot or something?

nope, just the factory 03-04 cobra rims and tires
when you lower it you'll add a bit of negative camber which will help with the rubbing problem. Nonetheless, I have 275's up front and MM forward offset A-Arms and I get rubbing at extreme steering angles to the left with the suspension at full compression. It's not a big deal. H&R or steeda sports will be just fine.
Get a set of cc plates.

Also, idk what MM forward offset a-arms are. Do those add more rubbing to your car, or less?
Thanks you !~
I bought them used from someone with an 04 cobra. Factory cobras have 17x9 rims and 275/40/17 tires all around.
I would like a thinner rim up front but don't want to pay more and they wouldn't be oem... which I like for the durability.
275 is a perfect fit on 9 in rims and anything else looks too small/ risks curb rash
