Cobra gone, replaced w/this
Tired of just having to clean it and missed wrenching. Let the fun begin on this car,,,,

On the way is:
Holley Systemax kit
24lb injectors matching mass air meter
1.6 roller rockers
I've bought a ton of stuff on ebay. Going to get rid of alot of that red interior. Great shape only 80k miles. GT40 crate motor w/regualr 5.0 intake. Dyno'd at 249hp/289tq. Standby for stereo thread.

Last owner had just put in brand new 8.8, 31 spline axles, 3:73's, Detroit Locker truetrac centerchunk. MSD box. That's bout it. I added stereo system to it. See my other thread.
Goal is to have it run as fast as my Cobra did (in may the Cobra did 12.27 in 90+ degree weather), but with the weight savings of the fox (anyone know what they weigh) I shouldn't need the 500hp that the Cobra had. This fox did 13.4/13.5 the same weekend as my cobra.

well he sold the cobra, prolly for around 25,000, paid prolly alittle less then 8 for this fox, spending a bunch of money in the fox, and prolly doing something almost responcible with the differance. thats assuming the cobra was paid for though.

He could of easily been pushing 650 horses with that cobra. On top of that he would of had a new edge cobra going fast at the track. The track is always filled with little fox bodies running 9 seconds and 10 seconds at the track, but thats not impressive at all, but when you see a new edge car run 10 seconds thats when your like damn.
Its kindof like the high school running track, Your always going see a shitload of thin kids run the mile at fast times, but when you see a little fat kid run the mile at the time the thin kids did, thats when everyones like "daymmmmn"

Cobra was paid off. Nope, not doing drugs, the Sheriff (my boss) wouldn't approve of it. Yeah, it was a nice car and all, but I was getting bored with it and missed wrenching on my own car. (BTW, it was an 03 Cobra.)
I took the money from the Cobra and was able to pick up this little gem for 6K. In the process I was able to pay off two bills which put the wife and I DEBT FREE other than a house payment and one car payment! How many of ya' all can say that?
Anyhoo, this is my first Fox Body and I plan on having some fun with it. Thanks for all the comments.

if he's happy then I say the fox was the better deal. parts are dirt cheap and it'll always be easier to be faster down the drag strip. At least it's a nice solid clean fox and he's getting rid of the porno red interior.

what kinda shapeare the door panels and the factory door speaker grills? i was origionally gonna ditch the porno red interior in my car, but its a black car, and i think the $600 would be better as half a set of AFR heads for me right now. plus i have a black car, and i feel it would be alittle too much black, ide like to keep the red as an accent color.

Yeah it is but like when I go to the track theres always like 30 fox's running 9's... so its not like something rare you know? To me its like a speed bike, a cheap way to go fast.

Thnx for the positive replies. I know it sounds odd, but i was never really "into" the Cobra. Sure, I miss the HP, the tightness and all around niceness of a new car, but it just wasn't me. This will be more of a fun project for me and my son.
