Default Engine Cleaning

hey guys i just have a question on what kind of products u guys use on the engine to keep it looking clean my grandfather said i should use a dab of oil on a cloth but was sceptical about it..

i steam clean my engine with the vacum i got get all the dirt and grease outa there works like a charm then i just wipe all excess liquid away

Beleive it or not but pledge furniture cleaner is the best thing you will ever try. I used it all the time myself

Steam cleaning is not smart. Condensation builds up in you electricals and eats them away. I'd be careful steaming it might want to think of alternatives

I wrap my alternator, battery terminals and other electrical components in saran wrap, then spray the engine down with the castrol degreaser in the purple bottle. Then it gets a light mist with a hose, and I use a sponge to get the tough spots.
