Ok guys i have th 20gb ipod and i want to get it hard wired into my car........i have the 1999 mach 460 with the 2 decks stacked on top of each other.......(so the radio is up top and the cd is underneath, no disk changer) how can i hardwire my ipod into my car(no transmitter or tape deck set up), the best buy people say i have to buy a whole new head unit which i will do if its the only way but i just want 2 make sure cause they have been wrong before........if anyone is good with audio and knows a way to pull it off could ya help me out

 

You would need a new head unit to do that. The mach 460 wont work with that application. One with r/l outputs like those with AV equip would be best. Simple to hardwire and cheap to plug in so long as you can get an adapter kit for those wires.

Dont you just have to bypass the factory amps?? I have an Ipod and in my 99 I use the cassette adapter, yes its chessy but it sounds good IMO...

best buy is tellin me again i gotta get entire stereo rewired for 130 to put in new head unit with the 460.................im almost positive theres a wiring harness ive seen to get past that......can someone give me a link

 

hahaha..i feel special...i dont need to do diddly squat to change my speakers and head unit..i got the non mach system ..but yea there is a harness...i think that there are 2 that u need but im not sure.....google it (google is ur best friend)

 

ya im startin 2 think screw the ipod.........i could return the ipod possibly and then $200 to play with hmmm and be debt free..............with the ipod im goin 2 be prob at least 250+ in debt 2 my mom

 

its easy with the right harness. theres a specific harness you need with mach 460. I know crutchfield will give you the wrong one.

 

no!! keep the ipod..ull regret it if u get rid of it...mine just stoped working (the touch pad) and im getting it replaced after christmas....it sux..i got it no longer than 5 months ago...but its been in my bookbag for a while
