Default Wash, Clay, Polish, Wax

Well I spent 5 hours Saturday cleaning my car. The 2 years I have had it, I have never clayed it or even waxed it. I took advantage of the nice Florida weather over the weekend. I clayed it and then used Meguires polish, and Mequires wax. I didn't use the Mequires cleaner because, well I clayed it. I must say the car is damn slick. It is hard to tell a difference in the color since it is silver. Polished the wheels too. Just thought I would share.

Yea 2 years wow.I can hardly go a couple of weeks.Get some detail spray and wipe it down every now and then.It will make it look just waxed and make your wax last longer.

I have never heard that either. I will have to try it next time. I plan on doing it again before winter gets here since it HAS been 2 yrs. I figured there are spots that might need to be hit again.

Another good tip I picked up was using the clay bar and Windex on your windows. It worked great, my glass looked new. It also removes most brake dust from the wheels.

Yes, wash, clay, then rewash to remove loose particles.

dont know how true it is but i have been told that the soap they use is super abrasive. It supposedly had the most harsh chemical of all the commercial car washes available. Whoever did the test post the results on one of these Mustang sites.

Wash--Clay--Wash???? Never heard that b4. Hmmm. Im way to lazy for that. I've already washed the car once,,no way im doing it again and drying it again. Haaaaa.

The true test of clay bar. Take the cellophane (plastic that is on cigarette box) off of cigarette pack. Put two fingers in it and rub the car b4 clay bar. Feel all that crap in the paint???? Clay bar then wax and do the cellophane trick again. It's night and day.

You dont have to dry it the first time, before claying.

A tip for drying is using a leaf blower. I bought a cheap one and I can have my car spot free dry in about 5 mins. It sounds nuts but atleast Im not the guy on StangNet thats boltin one on to his car.
