Question clear lacker polish

I don't think I am even spelling the word right (because I get "no match found" when doing a search on this site) but what exactly IS lacker, what is it used for, is it any good, who should use it, where can I get it, etc?

I remember hearing about corvette owners using it on their car...something along the lines of "yeah he had 30 coats of lacker on it! If you tried to key the car, the paint wouldn't even be hurt." Now, I heard this when I was like 16 or so and I had no idea what it meant nor did I care to ask further. But now, with my new black GT, I want to protect my finish as best as possible.

Please, if anyone has any information on this, talk about it hear. I can't even find anything on it through Google.

Thank you so much!

Matt

Im not sure what they are talking about however there is a wax product that you can apply several coats which enhances the gloss. Several members swear by it and spend countless hours and days applying it
