Default Time for new wheels!

Ok.. I haven't bought anything for my car in like.. 2 or 3 months!!!! That's a long time for me. So.. I'm thinking deep dish wheels.

http://www.mustangtuning.com/dedibuwh.html

If I go this route I only have to replace my back 2 wheels.. but my question is, will the tires I have fit these wheels? They are new tires so I don't want to repalce them, they are stock sizes btw.

Any information is appreciated. Or any other suggestions on appearence mods my car needs!!

Get teh 315's. The sumitomos are only 110 bucks right now, so theres no reason to not get 315's. They just look soo much better. BTW, I finally put on my steeda sports, so Im not jealous of your car anymore, well, yea, ok I still am, but...

lol.. the windows are tinted! just not over the legal limit (i dont need to give the cops another reason to be pulling me over, right? lol).

so if I'm going to have to replace the tires what are the advantages and disadvantages of bumping up to 18"? I want my car to look more lowered without actually lowering it, I have LTs of course and I don't want to be that close to the ground.

Dynospeed Racing in Memphis, TN dynoed my car, great people

tirerack.com $110 for 315's, and they are pretty good too...I have no complaints.

Christie, you think new 17 inch tires are expensive, youll pass out when you go to price 18's. AT LEAST 100 dollars more per tire. Just stick with the 17's. And I hear you on the legal limit tint.

yeah, you're probably right on the 18's. what size tires should I be looking for 315/??/17?

I'm a noobie on tires, but 315 is how wide they are, right? lol

I get a discount on tires so it won't be TOO bad buying 2 new ones, or I may put some DR's on there, I dunno yet

It's a Dynojet and they do SAE correction. They are also a SCT dealer and great tuners, they've tuned some really nice stangs. He showed me some vids before of the fastest convertible they had tuned and a twin turboed cobra so hawt

315/35/17's will look awesome and they are a little taller than my 18's I think. Will fill the wheel well very nicely.

315 / 35 / 17

315 is the width of the tire. bigger is wider.
35 is the sidewall height. higher the number the taller it is, and reverse.
17 is size of tire that will fit on the rim.

Yep, you want the 315 35 17's. Nitto makes a drag radial and sumitomo makes the HTZ R tire thats a good all around tire from what I hear. Thats what is going on mine.

If you are worried about prices, dont get a dot radial for daily driving. They have a high tread wear rating. Check out tirerack.com for the size you prefer and read up on the ratings and what people say about em.

I might be holding off on the wheels/tires for awhile. I might be buying a DSLR camera which is close to $1k and then I'll probably start saving for my heads and cams

Well I'm forgetting the camera and am back on getting new wheels lol. The problem I'm facing is picking out the tires because I have decided on 17" deep dish's so I only ahve to replace two wheels. If I go with 315/35/17 will it mess up my speedo because of the sidewall difference? I dunno, I don't want to pick out some cheap tires and have two difference brands on my car unless the back are drag radials, or is that just stupid? lol

Since your car is sct xcal 2 tuned, just hook it up and edit your custom tune with the speedo correction for xxx/35/17 tires and youll be good to go.

hmm.. I don't remember seeing this in there or not but does it have the option so you can adjust different size tires for the front and the back? cuz I play to leave my stock sized fronts on.

Fronts dont matter, Its the rears you have to worry about. Yes its in there somewhere. After your tune is loaded it will ask you to enter optional peramiters (sp?) click yes and go in there and find the tire option. You can just reload your tune and do it that way or just go in there and edit it without reloading it.

I ended up ordering the camera today lol. Got a pretty good deal on it.. over $200 in coupons from dell for the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Silver Body, which means I have to buy the lens, but I got it for $659! instead of $899. The lens I can get for $50 So be expecting some new pics from me within the next few weeks! I hope it gets here soon.

On another note I'll have a trailer to haul my Stang soon also, as long as my dad still plans to sell his Harley I told him I'd go half in on a trailer

The deep dish wheels will come eventually, I just need the tires. I want all 4 to match unless they are DR's, which I decided against because it'll be too costly. So I may pick up 4 of those Sumitoco's HTR Z's and sell the ones I have on there now /shrug

The sidewall of that rim is incredibly close to stock size. Your only going to be off by about a percent or two.

Well I've made a new decision on the tires... I'm just gonna do Nitto NT-555R's, because they're only $175 each shipped for free. That's only 60 bucks more than the Sumitoco's. I know that the DR's will wear faster but I think they'd look better. I just hope they don't kill me in the rain because my TC is turned off lol. So I'll probably have the wheels and tires in a month's time

I have 45's on the front & 35's on the back, there is not much diff in the sidewall. The sumitomos are a more rounded sidewall while the stock goodyears are more square. I think the overall height of the 35's + tread is the exact same as a 45.
