Default Is this even worth it?

My brother gave me his old amp and two 12" subwoofers and I was wondering if it was even worth trying to fab an enclosure and putting them in my car. They are old as sin (Pioneer TS-W31C) with a max 400w. Should I even bother with them or just give up on it?

free stuff dude....hook it up and see if u like it.....just remember if u hook it up.....there are 3 wires that need to be hooked up to the amp.....a positive coming from the battery, a ground (both should be about 8 gauge...i used 4 gauge wires) and a lil wire to turn on/off the amp when the car is on/off....if u get an amp installation kit...itll have all u need....(dont touch the positive and ground....i did that by accident and i had a fireworks show in my trunk.....n blew a 60amp fuse......it only take about .5amps to kill you...i was lucky....) good luck any ways

The extent of the injury is based on 6 different things - amperage, voltage, resistance, type of current, path of current, and duration of exposure. With that said, .5 amps isnt going to kill you if its flat out .5 amps. Especially from a 12v source.

Youd be better off selling them and putting that money towards a halfway decent cd/mp3 player.

I guess it depends on what you have now. If I aint mistaken the Mach 460 is a 460 watt system. Which is what I have in my 04 GT. The mach 1000 is 1000 watts. Man my 460 will hurt you if you crank it with full bass. I used to think my 100 watt jensons were the heat in the 80's. little did I know back then. I just cant understand how some of these young kids can stand the thump of their subwoofers and still expect to hear when they're 40 years old..

LOL thats why I have the Mach 1000.After loud explosions and gunfire in the military and Heavy Metal music I have to have it loud to hear it.Now though all I listen too when I'm driving is the sound of sweet exhaust sounds

I screwed up my hearing from years of audio competitions. 145dB really puts a toll on it.

I love the sound of a v8 too Its a shame I don't have one I did get a louder exhaust for my 6 but it still will never sound like a v8. I decided to go with a different sub and amp package so I hope I can get everything together and looking good.
