Default VIS Cowl Hood

I have a BLACK 02 mustang GT. I am getting bored of my hood. I want to get a cowl hood and didnt want to pay for a fiberglass hood and then pay an extra $7487348973489 dollars to have it prepped and painted. So I figured I'd get the carbon fiber hood and install it.

Anyone experience installing a VIS cowl hood??????????????? I should be able to install it myself with a friend to help...?

not a fan of carbon fiber especially on a mustang, but i guess if your ride is black it doesnt stand out as much. hood installation should be no problems whatever you get. some will be ready to unbolt four bolts and swap hood off some will require you to transfer the latch. have someone there to help you lift the old one off and to hold up the weight of the hood while you are bolting it on to the hinges

I have a VIS carbon fiber '00R hood. The clear coat held up for about 2.5 years before I had it recleared. The carbon fiber itself, fit, and finish is all perfect. It weighs about 15 pounds. The underliner of mine has Cervinis molded into it but it's the only one I have ever seen that is like that. The stock latch location is steel if you want to use it. I cut mine up to install some aerocatch hood latches.

We have had a few members who ran those hoods. They look nice with black.

double check everything before you ever drill a hole. I think 01FR500 had a write up on installing pins. Or it might have been jack the ripper I am not sure.

Mine isn't so much a how-to but rather more a cautionary tale. https://mustangboards.com/pictures/3...fications.html

so....anyone ever get any hoods from www.carbonfiberhoods.net aka Illstreet? they have Authentic Vis hoods at that site (they say). Any experiences in the past? I might get the hood from there as they are cheaper...

Looks like a legit site to me. Nothing seems weird.
