Unhappy What hood is good!!!

I pulled a dumba?? moment the the other day and got done fixing some wiring under my hood and was in a hurry to get to a store. I left and forgot to pin my hood down and sure enough it blew up. I know how dumb i am, i have been telling myself and if i could kick myself any harder i would. But anyways, hood blew back and cracked my windshield and messed my hood up. Instead of crying about it for a while i decided to pick out my new one and use the chance for some new paint. Got to look for a positive when you pull dumb one like me..ha These are the few that it is down to...which one should i get?

3" cowl hood for sure. I'm personally not a huge fan of the gill area on the R hood.

I'm sorta partial to the Cobra 00R, but I like the simpler cowl hood also. If I had to get a new hood it would be that or the Steeda Q series hood.

I'm partial to the 2000 R hood. If I had to get another one I would get one that has the grill inserts instead of what Cervini produced.

Yeah, mine is VIS/Cervinis and doesn't have any venting, which I'd like to have. I'm going to have to cut the hood to put in the hood pins so I might man up an cut some vents.

If you want a 2000 Cobra R hood with the louvers open and screened... Here is a direct response to an email i sent ABC Exclusive asking about that...

Dear Marshall

Thank you for your interest in our products.
The R-2000 hood is normally supplied with the vents closed.
We can manufacture the hood with the vents on the hood open with screens on the inside.
The hoods are normally $269.95 and a custom hood with the vents on the hood open with screens is $299.95. It will take two days to complete this hood.
Let us know how we can serve you.

Best Regards,

Same here.. Never really understood the newer R hood, it seems like they went backwards, the '00R should have been on the '95 and the '95 should have been on the '00.

I had never heard of that Q series hood before.. That thing is ugly!!!

You stole my hood and painted it to match your car!!! You bastard! Return it immediately!

No, seriously... LOL

That is the hood that will be going on my car someday.

In other news, ABC stole my Cobra spoiler.... They are selling shaved '03 Cobra spoilers now..

Ok...down to 2 choices.. Should i go with 3" or 4"cowl. I had the 2.5 and am wanting to go up a little. Anyone think the 4 is just rediculous. I really like it but from the side view not liking it so much.

I think the 4 is a little much unless u gots a major bad *** car. I want the 2.5 or the 3.
It's got just the right aggressive look that I want.

I don't think it's bad. Its just like a 2.5" cowl with some louvers in the front to vent some air out, make it a little different from typical cowls if not functional also. Now, there are some ugly cars that have that hood.

wow..i got a check today...i went to a shop that makes hoods andi set a few on the car...to tell the truth i was likeing a cowl before today but after seeing them i really like the cobra r with the funtional louvers. This has a 2.5 rise on it also but just has a more agressive stance. The only rise i like is the 2.5 and the 3 and 4 makes my car look goofy as ever.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3817228
this is the hood i have now, and i really want a change

Tomm i am picking out my hood for sure. Pretty sure cobra r hood is way to go..i have seen tons of cowl hooded mustang in my area and want to be a little diff from them. I think everything will look mean on my car, also looking to get louvers on the back window. I think they look good on a black car. Anyone esle like louvers or are they stupid.
