Default Hood Insulation How To

So after we all know to clean a little under the hood to keep it looking nice, i looked at the hood insulation (right under the hood) and saw how nasty and faided it looked. Here's a little how to make it look nice again.

What you need:
2-3 Small Bottles of Kiwi Black Leather Shoe Dye
1 Household Sponge
1 Hour of Time

Costs:
$10 + The applicable oppertunity cost

First step:
Clean / Wipe down the hood insulation, be carefull it may be very fragil and break if you are to rough with it. (you dont necessarily have to wipe it with soap unless its pretty dirty which mine was only fainted)

Second step:
Take the Kiwi Bottle and do yourself a favour and remove the tiny sponge unit on top of it and start to pour a little of the black liquid onto the sponge, than start applying it. to the hood (you may need to go over the same spot a few times because some places on the insulation absorb more than others)

Third step:
Look for spots you forgot and reapply as needed, than enjoy your car

FINISHED RESULTS:

Isn't it a sort of heat-sink... drawing heat away from the engine to itself? No wonder why it gets hot in the summer.

Yea but then it just absorbs it and stores it versus releasing it into the air like it would without having it there. Think about it as if it were just a sponge holding hot air over the motor versus letting it air cool.

Just pitch it. Its only there in case of a fire and it is supposed to smother the fire.

yeah gloves would be a possiblity but why if you have soap for free , anyway i heard that some mustangs have paint spots under the hood insulation and i kinda like the pony on it plus here in florida it gets really hot in the summer so idk if combined enigne heat and sun makes the pain peel easier without it, and thanks for the welcome
