Default Need some opinions on gauges.

So I've been looking to get some gauges put in the car so once I get my christmas present (not quite sure what it is yet) I can monitor everything I need to.

The idea I had going was to get these.

http://www.aeroforcetech.com/products_interceptor.html

A dual gauge set-up.

Now my question is, whether I should mount the on the A-Pillar (which I'm not entirely sure how much that entails as far as removing stock A-Pillar, taking dash apart, or what) or should I get the center dash mount with dual cut-outs for the gauges?

A-Pillar - http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...__Hardtop.html

Center Dash (but with two instead of three and no gauges) - http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...ercharged.html

My biggest concern is taping something to my dash for the second, and for the A-Pillar I'm just afraid I'll have to take my entire dash apart to get the stock A-Pillar off.....

Any advice?

Why not go with the ones that AM.com has? The dash mount on stage3 is pretty expensive. I was looking at these for when I come back from deployment next year after I get the supercharger for my car.

I was just finding something to show example. Plus for some reason AM's site was down last night when I posted this thread.

I just want to know which would look the best. I like the A-Pillar, but I think the center dash is easier and better looking.

Yea the center dash looks nice but both are pretty cool... I think I might try to do both though.

pillar gauges are t3h suck. Keep em low and wait till you have a reason to install one to select which one to install.

I don't like how the center gauges look like they were stuck on the dash. Me I lilke A pillar setup with the least amount of gauges possible. I have a 2 pod setup for oil and fuel pressure.

The A pillar goes over the stock one and you drill threw it and use push pins to hold it on. Super easy and simple to install.

I do have a reason to install them....and holding off only means more money will be poured out at once versus over time. It will happen, so why push it off. Plus right now I need them for oil pressure and one as a shift light (since the 4.10s and my new rev limiter make me think my cars going to blow).

I don't need both. That's possibly the most ricerish thing ever if your car has like 9 different gauges. Especially if two electronic gauges can scroll through everything I'll EVER need. From A/F ratio, to boost, oil temp, charge temp, RPMs, bleh bleh bleh.

I agree I can't stand when I see cars with a 3 pillar setup, and have the dual cluster setup and the single steering wheel setup too. I'm like why the **** do you need that?

Exactly. I saw a TT Supra at school this weekend and asked the guy to see it (he was an older alumni). So I got it and looked, the entire radio was taken out and replaced with two gauges. The he had a triple a-pillar set-up as well.....

WTF?!?! lol.

It just looks like you're trying to hard to look fast.

I think I'll go with the a-pillar. Save the trouble of potentially f-ing up my dash with sticky tape.

Those Interceptor gauges are badass for sure. If you go for the a-pillar pod setup definitely go with the speed of sound pillar, thats what I went with and I love mine.

I'm pretty 300 zxs don't show anything on their stock gauges though. Supras have oil pressure and boost if I remeber correctly from factory. So all you could really use is a Wideband, tach/shift light maybe, water temp and maybe boost if factory doesn't support what you're pushing.

I'm pretty sure 9 is still overkill, but I guess safety comes first. Thats why he should just have electronic gauges anyways.

By time I bought a shift light and tach, oil pressure, and water temp gauge I'd be at the cost of one interceptor almost (for the price I can get them)

It has a few in it but he added a lot of different ones. Its a crazy set up. Do you have to scroll through the electronic gauges or what? How does that work?

Haha yep that's exactly what I said. I rode with a guy in his 6.0 GTO about three weeks ago and he had the same set-up as in the video and they were so nice. One scrolled Fuel Pressure, Oil temp/pressure, and water temp. The second was a Tach with the shift light set-up and MPH on it.

I was hooked lol. They're customizable to the color and make-up you want as well. Plus if anything starts to go wrong with temp or pressure it'll blink letting you know. So it helps ALOT.

Yea I'll pay the price for those. I think I'm going to tell my buddy about them also. Maybe he'll spend the money on them and take all those damn gauges he has out.

Yea I like the way the A-Pillar looks. The dash doesn't look bad either though. It'll come down to a "game time decision" probably. Still have to wait a little while til I get ready to get my supercharger though.
