Soo my brother bought a 08 GT/CS about 9 months ago, nice car runs smooth. About 3 months ago he decided to buy vinyl stripes for it, and have a guy who did vinyls put em on. Well the guy said it would be easy and he could do it no problem, unfortunatly my brother didnt search up these stripes he bought, and they werent pre-cut. Steve(guy who was gunna put stripes on) said it was still np.

So we got to pick up the car a few days later and he says, somethings not right. We come back another few days and he has completely ripped off the stripes(obviously ruined em cant be re-used). We ask why and he says he messed it up by doing something wrong(i wasnt there atm), something to do with the glue. So we took the car home feeling sad, but whatever.

We noticed a few scratches on the hood and etc. figured whatever we now knew to never take anything back to him. Now about 3 months allot more scratches have started showing up,(i guess he tried to buff em out) and ALL of them are past the base coat. The follow exactly where the stripes would have been so we know its not from random stuff, and at this point the whole car needs repainted. Or atleast the center of it, so what should we do? We paid steve about 500$ and supplied the vinyls ourself, he refunded 200$ even though he told AM(where we bought stripes) about this and they refunded him for the stripes but he never gave us the money for them either. Now were kinda in deep ****, so were thinking about pursuing legal actions to get him to pay for the stripes.

So wait, your brother paid $500 for a guy to install vinyl leman stripes on his car??? Could have probably got the stripes painted cheaper, which may be a possibly with all these scratches you talk about. The glue will probably come off with goo-gone.

 

Yea it turns out he coulda gotten them painted for 700(shows how much he looked into this) and the scratches are from when the guy was cutting the vinyl, and was cutting ON the car.

 

I would sue the f*** outta that guy!!! thaats bull if someone did that to my car i would go apeshit on their asses!!

 

Yea, it really is bullshit because we decided to be nice and only want half of what we paid for them to be put on in the first place. Because he worked for two days or so on it, and he was still a dick about it and never gave us our money back for the stripes

 

I woulda gone straight to a small claims court and sued for damages and the cost of it!!

I'd be so far PAST considering...I'd have been there and back already if I were you. I'd have also murdered the guy who did that, but I hear law enforcement isn't a big fan of that stuff, so you might leave that one out.

 

Yea, the problem is all it does is put more stress on my mom because shes the only one who can deal with most legal issues, and shes already dealing with foundation issues on our house. And my dad cant do anything for another month until he gets back.

Yea, hes 17, im not sure if thats the right age or what. And yeah this guy was one of the few people who would do it in our town, and obviously he was waaaay over his head

So you bought the stripes and paid to have them installed be put the strips on and tried to cut them with a razor when they were on the car I take it. On top of this he didn't give you a full refund. You need to go and talk with him about this.

As for the car I can't tell much from the photos. But from the few marks I do see most can be taken out by someone who knows what they are doing with a high speed polisher and some good products.
