how to prevent paint swirls??

right now my car does not have any swirls so would i still need to use a polish and if so which one?

if no swirls right now like steeda said just use a quality wax and seal up that finish

i bought the Porter Cable 7424 and a few other things today, thanks for the help guys.

i got all my stuff today so tomorrow im planing on trying it out on the Oldsmobile.lol

i was just wondering the order every thing is done in?

1.wash
2.clay
3.polish
4.wax

if im wrong let me know.

Pretty much, but..

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Quick wash
4. Swirl remover (if you need it)
4a. Polish
5. Wax

Removing swirls ~ polishing

And you don't need to wash after claybarring

  3. WASH or just rinse(if you use a lubricant for the clay and not just water than you should wash it afterwards)
  4. Polish

thanks every one, i worked on the Oldsmobile and it worked out great all the swirls are gone and it looks great.

it still needs wax, im doing that tomarrow.
