NEW HID THREAD!!
Okay, ive decided on getting them. Wheres the best place for around 100 bucks to get dual bi xenon kit? Im sooo iffy and scared that the kits i get other than from AM (which is too expensive) will have alot of cobbling! i want everything to plug together,, i dont want to run leads to my battery or anything,, just plug old light power into a ballast, then the ballast into the HID bulb! So i need help finding a trustworthy source! thanks guys!

I don't think such a thing exists, if you want bi-xenon you'll have to run leads to your battery as far as I know. Might be wrong because mine still haven't gotten here yet, but I'm pretty sure that's how it is.

You're going to have to connect it to the battery somehow,just like almost every other electrical mod.They aren't really just plug and play. It's more like.. take out (battery) hide (ballast and relay) plug in and tape (bulbs into housings) sort and route (wires for passenger light through the radiator shroud) plug & tape again, then plug in all of the wiring of the bulbs to the harness, tape off your OEM passenger headlight wiring connector with electrical tape or something (it's not used with HIDs), then attach to the battery. It's really easy once you lay everything out and understand what goes where, but you will want to take out your battery so you can hide both the big relay box and the driver's side ballast on the sides of the engine bay.

HIDs for under $100 bucks don't exist lol. The cheapest kits I've seen are the ones on AM. You're never going to find a GOOD set of HID's that are plug-and-play....trust me I've tried everywhere.

Mine were $80 from ebay, plug and play. They're single beam so they don't have high beams, but they've been working perfectly fine for me for over a year now.

I can't vouch for the quality just yet because I haven't gotten them in yet, but I got two sets, one 5k for my dad's truck and 6k for my car. Both Bi-Xenon, and they were $140/ea. Lifetime warranty on all parts. The kits come with super-thin ballasts, bulbs and the harness.
All I know is that so long as the product is good this is the best deal on HID's, hands down. I love AM, but the best price I could get from them was something like $240 and they only carry 8k..
I've eMailed John a couple of times and so far his response have been super-quick (within 30 minutes) and he seems like a good guy. If you want to wait I can give a better review of the seller in a week or so.

I've been studying the hell out of these things over the last couple of weeks trying to decide what direction to go.. As far as I can tell, the better kits and the better bang for your $$ are the bi-xenon kits, you get the standard HID low beam as well as the added feature of the high beam when you really need alot of light. They require just a bit more work to run the positive and negative leads to the battery, but in the long run they should last even longer and have less chance of a burn out.

Lol ok Switch he's asking for bi-xenon so I answered him in reference to bi-xenon. Excuse me, next time I'll specifically say for bi-xenon.
Bi-xenon's are the safest and most efficient way to go. The leads are a pain to run, but if you're not willing to get a little dirty than don't worry about it. It can't hurt the battery more than your regular headlights do, it's actually BETTER for your car. If you're worried about it just make sure you run everything clean, strap everything down (zip-ties are your friend) and put a fuse in it (like a fuse you'd use for a huge *** stereo amp).
You can get anything cheap lol, but quality falls too. It's the business of retail. When the cheap crap quits working I doubt you'll get any customer support like you would with Sharp....

i found some HID kits on amazon... they only have like one review.. they are 140. dunno.. still waiting on WNRacing to tell me how his kits going.. my headlights i got off of ebay not too long ago (the smoked ones for 100$) came with xenons.. but they sucked becuz high and low was the same,, no difference.. im figuring these cheap HID kits will do the same in a bi setup.

Well I got them in this afternoon and installed them tonight. Install was really easy, but after I got them installed I realized that there was no high-beam..
I just emailed John to see what I needed to do, so we'll see.. So far though they are working great and look fantastic.

hmm they look wicked,, is it worth the upgrade? is your single beams u have right now just as good as ur old high beams? And should i either go HID or just use silverstars? tell me your honest input on all this. i have bad night vision,, very bad, mainly becuz all the wrecked cars around here have HORRIBLE headlight adjustment. so they have one headlight brighting me generally.

If money is an issue then the Silverstars without a doubt are the best halogen headlights available, but honestly these HID's are amazing. Just as good as my dad's mini cooper.
I can tell you this. I'll never have another car with halogen headlights again if I can help it.
BTW: The photos I took were with the exact same camera settings, I didn't do anything to the pics other than resize them.
I also have to adjust my drivers side headlight, it's angled down just about 1/4" too low, so the pics don't exactly look right.

Truthfully, if you're scared of fitment, etc. you may just be better off to buy the AM HID's.. They're more expensive, but supposed to be specifically made for Mustangs.. How mechanically inclinded are you?

I'm very mechanically inclined. I did my whole sound system, the box was already in the car, i did my security system, its a "secure guard" I build computers haha. i just dont like the idea of something feeling cobbled. its like putting wires together with black tape dont work for me, i have to use shrink tubing. And my old halo's killed me. I had to wire them into the parking light harness, and it felt VERYY cobbled. And i get the "my car feels like its gonna fall apart or mess up" feeling.

So, after dicking around for about 20 minutes I finally fixed the problem. The harness that came with the kit had a couple of wires backwards, apparently it's pretty common with HID kits because they make them as universal as they can to work with as many cars as possible.
The solution was pretty simple, just moved the connecting wires (in the aftermarket harness) from the factory plug around a few times until I found the correct poles. So now I have full functionality, low and high beams just like it should be. The funny thing is I had been driving around with the high beams on! haha! Wierd thing is though that I never got flashed once..
I'll try to get a couple of pics later tonight with the final outcome, but I'm pretty satisfied now.

I would also always install HIDs on my cars if they did not come with them originally. Or if they did, throw them in the fogs.

With that said... I thought it was very strange that I had been driving around for two days with a set of 6k HID's producing the High-beam and never once got flashed. I tend to drive on pretty dark highways around here on my normal commute. Anyway, now that I've got them working correctly I hate to say it, but I'm less than impressed with the outcome.. So much so that I have Emailed John @ SharpHID to ask him for an RMA. I can't say truthfully if it's the kit or if it's the housing or what, but they don't even compare with my dad's cooper and it has reflector housings just like my car.
I want to say this, though. John @ Sharp has been a good guy to deal with, not necessarily the most helpful with the installation, but so far his customer service has been quite good. I don't want everyone to think that he has an inferior product, it may just be that they don't work well in my car, who knows..

Maybe the housings are just not directing the light narrow enough... try fiddling around with the alignment, see if raising them just a tad helps you out. Perhaps park on the end of a dark dead end and mess around for the maximum distance. Then meter that against the number of flashes you get from other drivers until you are happy.
With mine I can see all sorts of stuff much further out in front of me, and I love the reflective highway signs lit up like neon billboards a quarter mile out.

i just bought silverstars,, didnt find much of an improvement,, its a prettier and less straining color.. BUT id say they are alot better in rain n stuff as compared to oem.. HID's just too expensive to get a good kit.
