All of my friends who have radars, their radars shut off when u turn the car off. in my 01 gt, i have to take out the plug in order for it to shut off. all i want is it to stay plugged in so i dont have to do this....is there any way i can change it?

 

you need to connect the wires to the fuse box, it needs to be connected to a fuse that is turned on when you turn the key, should be marked as ignition.

 

Like he said you would need to use a switched 12v source also know as a source that only gets power when the key is in the "ON" position. Or you can just reach up and turn it off like I do.

 

Yeah i dont know what ford was thinking when they decided to make the cig lighter constant, kinda gay. Had the same problem, got an FM transmitter had to unplug it every time i got out the car

 

Not me. I've got the iTrip that plugs into the cig lighter deal and it shuts off with the car.

 

i like it constant... if im at a party or something i throw my phone in to charge
