Default I want my car to look and sound good, but I'm low on cash.

Any suggestions?

I already have the head unit, I'm looking for something more in the exterior department.

Is there anything relatively cheap that can help to make the car sound better?

I want to make it look and sound better, and I'll get to the performance parts later when I can afford it.

Its a '99 Mustang.

post a picture of the car, maybe we can help you out.

an exhaust set up is great to add a nice sound, the right rims can make a car look good. maybe some rocker stickers (the kind that go on the bottom of the door) can look good.

however if you are strapped for cash, i recommend not throwing it away on mods. trust me, once you start modding, you'll never want to stop.

Hey guys.

I'll try to get a picture up soon.

The car does need a new paint job. Does anyone know how much a cheap but good-looking paint job would cost me?

So what am I looking at for like a normal paint job? I mean, nothing crazy. There are just light scratches since I got the car used and apparently the owner felt it was not a big deal to have light scratches.

Maybe I can buff them out or something if they are light enough?

I would try buffing them out with a Porter Cable before I got a new paint job.

I just put straight pipes on mine and it sounds excellent!!!! And it was only $60. I can always go back and put a different exhaust on when I win the lottery. And as far as looks, like everyone else said we really need to see it to give any real feedback.

you know what made my old 94 look really good? a set of clear headlights and corners. if you go to http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/50resto.aspx and look for the cobra headlights with clear corners, or americanmuscle and get the euro cobra ones.

How much you think that would run me?

Also, I don't know how well you can see it, but do you think I would be able to buff those scratches out?

EDIT: Is this what your talking about?

maybe some bumper inserts, fog lights, or a chin spoiler. The fog lights can get somewhat expensive compared to the inserts and chin spoiler. IMO I would consider re-doing the tint in a black variant, unless your into the mirror tint. DO NOT put any stickers or fake triangle stick-on side vents. Since its a black car maybe some tail light tint.

start with the foundation and get some new shoes. the stock 16s look like trash. i'd get some 18s all around, but you can probably get some used 17" bullits for cheap.

then after that mach 1 chin spoiler, new headlights either blacked out or completely clear, stainless steel inserts. DO NOT get the stickers. IMO, they look like someone sharpied them in. you don't have to get fogs, cuz in that bumper they are barely noticable.

It looks like you got a good foundation. I would start with some tires, looks like those are almost tread free. As long as your getting tires might as well get the rim upgrade if you can afford it. The white pin stripe really needs to go. A really good wash and wax will do wonders.

Ya that's a picture before the work that the guy is getting done before I get it. When I pick the car up it will have new wheels, breaks, rotors, and mirrors.

I will most definitely will be giving it a good wash and wax
