Tomorrow I'm going to pick up some high gloss automotive clear and use that on the dark pony. Today I also tinted my rear reflectors so they look more smoked out. Monday I'm ordering tail light tint (smoked) and glossy black trunk vinyl. I'll post pics of the car when all of that is on.

Another update! Byaah!

I decided to go ahead and put some laquer thinner on my mach pony, and re did it with a couple of light coats, came out to the perfect darkness. It's about as close to black chrome as I can get it. I have 2 coats of automotive touchup clear on there but the orange peel from it is a BITCH so I'll do one more coat, and then let it sit for two days and then use a rubbing compound on it to smooth it out.

In other news, I finally fixed (sorta) my wiper cowl that was cracked in 8 places. Laid fiberglass on the bottom side of the entire thing and cut it into two halves, then repainted it. Bitch better not break anymore.

and pics of the tinted reflectors.

Shitty pics of the pony, I'll get good ones when it's actually done. The 2nd coat of clear is drying in these two pics, so it looks even worse. lol

Oh, you might think it looks dark, but it's not, You can see the chrome behind it in the light

Represent!

-FR500s are sweet too, but I like them more on 197s, they are way overused on new edge, and (this is just because I'm not the biggest fan of sn95s) 95s just can't really pull off many wheels at all.

Your car isn't by chance a '99 sixer is it?

Hmm...Well I had the same wiper cowl problem with my '99 sixer when I had that. Granted I live in Colorado, and it was parked outside in lord knows how many winters and summers so it was pretty jacked up. But I wonder if a different material was used in those years than '02-'04, I've heard of that problem on '01s too...

As for Steeda, your wheels don't go as well with your car as some others might. They're not terrible, but they don't really pull off the whole look (I haven't seen your whole car so I can't say if they do or don't work with your car). In my humble opinion, some black Foose DF-5 rims would do wonders to your car. They're mainly meant for the S197s, but someone told me that they sell them for new edge stangs too. I haven't found them yet, but I know they're there (I've seen them).

Everyone seems to like them. I like White on Chrome. I think it looks nice. I love my car. Maybe i'll get some professional pictures taken to show them off now that you said that. lol.

Like hire someone to take pics? Dude, for how much that costs, you can get a cheap 7mp camera. I've got a GE A735 for $95 at Wal-Mart...professional pics are way overpriced (at least here they are).

But it's cool that you like your rims. I've given a lot of crap to people like GottiDC for liking something different than me, but like Jack said in that other thread, "[You] can like whatever the hell kind of rims [you] like". It's cool, I really like how people stand up for what they believe in. It's almost inspiring, inspiring for what is still unknown, but I'm sure something will come to mind eventually.

Well my girlfriends dad is a professional photographer so it probably wouldn't cost me anything.

That's pretty cool. My brother is a freelance photographer, not quite pro but you can't tell the difference really.

I went out and put it in the grille to get an idea of how it'll look, it still needs to be compounded or wetsanded.

Let me know what you think.

Well I'm back to square 1

It looked perfect though, lightly rubbed some Scratch-x on it and it cleaned it up nicely to a mirror finish, until I chipped it. The tint isn't bonding good enough to the emblem, so I'm going to redo it and spray a clear adhesion promoter first. Hopefully that will work. And after tinting it I'll do 5 layers of clear instead of 3. So the project is as follows..adhesion promoter/tint tomorrow (rainy and humid today so can't do it), clearcoat layers wednesday, compound friday and hopefully install saturday. This project should be finished just in time for my order to get here

Looked good! Sucks that it chipped. Spray some tint on your fogs while your at it.
