Help with Xenon Hood Scoop on 05'GT Mustang
Ok, I've gotten it painted and mounted with the tape, but there are visable gaps on the sides of the scoop. Can you guys suggest a way to fill in the gaps on the sides? When I first put it on I tried holding it down to get it to stick, but it just doesn't curve enough to fit the hood.

damn that looks like ***.
how about the underside of the scoop? i assume if you flip the scoop over there is a lip that the tape goes on right?
the only reccomendation i have is to use some self threading screws and come up from underneath to see if you can pull it down to fit better?
how is the opening of the scoop? does it have a plastic insert or is is just open? if it is open you could try doing the same as above but use some bolts...
you could always drill some holes up through the hood and through the lip, then get some small bolts and nuts, use some rubber cement or something and glue the nut to the inside of the lip, then take the bolts from underneath and thread them into the nuts, the glue should hold enough for you to get it tightened up.
man that sucks.
if yer not good with the idea of drilling the hood, call XENON and see what the deal is, maybe the scoop you have is a bit warped?

I cant believe they would recommend fastening to the hood with just double sided tape? Thats crazy, it will be bye bye bye in no time!
I would take it to a body shop and see if they can do like Jack recommended!

tape is never a good idea especially when the scoop can fly off at high speeds. Your best bet is to bolt it down somehow. I know the scoops on the 99-04 have a couple of bolts holding it down so you might want to consider bolting it to the hood somehow. Or take it to a shop. lol

whoa, a slew of responses suddenly. This was a mess from the start, the guy I bought it from sent it to me without directions. When I took it to get it painted, the body shop thought the scoop was warped. I told him to go ahead and yep, it didn't fit right. To every one's suprise, it hasn't fallen off, I took the car up to 130 miles per hour yesterday. Basically, from your responses, I should A) take it to a body shop to bolt it on somehow B) Call xenon and see what the deal is.

Hey guys, I called xenon, great customer service by the way, and they are mailing me the kit I never got with the scoop. He thought that since I didn't have it in the correct spot more than likely, and didn't have the correct tape, once I use what he is sending me, I should be ok.

Autobahn, JK. I don't know, blowing off some steam. That's the fastest I've ever taken it. I usually never drive it over 85.

I don't like it when people brag about how fast they were going. 130 mph is ridiculous. Your trying to kill yourself and someone else.

ya ur right man, but hey no one cant stop nobody from doing wat they want to do

I'm not bragging, I just wanted to see what it can do. I don't get speeding tickets because I'm usually not driving more than 10 to 15 miles over the speed limit. I not trying to kill anybody. I'm not like the punks in Trans Ams that try to run people off the road just to race somebody.
