so sorry again for being so neeb but i dont know anything about the tunes in my car. ok

so i was looking around and i was thinkin mabe one 10in or one 12 in i dont need too much punch. i found sonys of both. the 12 was 1300 peak wattage like 380w rated power.
ok so that is that...
then i guess i need an amp then so witch watage number do use for the amp. i know nothing about good brands or anythin. i dont want to spend an arm and leg so im going mid range in price but sony is a name brand so i thought they would be good. let me know.

JL audio: 10w series sub, 250watt JL or Alpine amp, 1 Farad cap, trunk mount.

Much more than a single 10 is too much for the car... never sounds right.

I use a single 90 watt x 2 channel Apline amp and a pair of JL 8" speakers. Quality of sound is great and there's plenty of bass response to rattle my nuts when I want.

FWIW... I got as good quality sound from a 10" Bazooka speaker and my Apline amp as I do from 2 8's. The Mach460 is a nice base system that just totally lacks bass response. Adding a little bass power was all I needed to be perfectly happy. Having 6 CD's in the dash is nice too.
