rust removal on metal parts

Default rust removal on metal parts

i installed my cold air intake in february and on the mounting plate there is some rust already building up. what is a good way to remove it/treat it?

any good liquid metal polish. Something with a grit rating in the thousands. Brasso works very well so does pepsi and steel wool but it scratches easier.

I've always had luck with that turtle wax chrome polish. It's really cheap too.
