My amp.
I have a rockford amp and 2 10" subs. I recently bought a new headunit and i installed everything the way it was with the old unit. Now when i hook my battery up it makes a popping noise and blows fuses in my amp. I can't figure out whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. any help would be great

It could be many things but here is common issues.
-two wires are crossed or touching
-wires are not connected correctly
-power wire is shorted(cut and making contact with metal)
-Subs are blown out or speaker wire shorted to metal
Make sure that there are no wires touching each other where they connect on the amp. Unplug everything off amp. Bring amp next to battery run two cables to amp Positive and negative, make sure you have fuse for positive and if it blows out again your amp is fried. If it doesnt you have a shorted wire going to amp and amp is good. Pull all the wires and inspect insulation for breaks.
Have you ever installed audio equipment before?

This was my first time installing subwoofers. I guess I'll just pull everything out and check it. I know it was fine because as I said it worked for almost a year. I have

575P110S4 Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 10" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer x 2

It is normal for the amp to make a spark if the capacitors inside the amp are drained and as soon as you make the connection you may heard it but whats not normal is for fuse to blow. Double check all the terminals on the amp and make sure there is not a little strand of wire bridging two connections.

Is it normal for it to smoke???
I emailed crutchfield and they said I have a 3 year warranty since I installed it with a rockford install kit. so i just need to call rf if i want to do something about it.

well you only have 200 watt amp your subs could not be getting the power they need
my rockford system has a p2 12" sub thats 500 or 550 watts and a 600 watt amp. you always want a little bit more power in an amp then your subs can handle
correct me if im wrong

your on the right track. you want the amp to push around, or a lil more then the rms of the speaker. say for instance on my system, my sony subs peak at 1100w, but rms at 600, i've got a sony 1200w amp, you wouldn't want to put a 1200w amp to each speaker because one day when you crank it up you could risk blowin' ur subs, and if they're any good it's a costly mistake. so just to be safe aim for right around the rms of the sub, lil over is alright just try to stay below the peak.
