I just bought a 2001 'vert and I'm not sure how to tell if the top is vinyl or fabric (in an effort to protect it). From what I've read on this forum, there is a significant difference in what you use (not for cleaning, but for protecting) - but, I haven't found anything that tells me, definitively, what type of top I have (and the local Ford dealership wasn't any help).

A V6 or GT - Vinyl Top

03-04 Cobra - Cloth Top

99-01 Cobra - I have no idea.

 

99-01 Cobras were Vinyl.

 

If you ever saw a cloth top, there would be no mistaken. They feel and look very different.
