Default Just ordered some MB Quart

I was browsing ebay and found a good deal on a set of MB Quart reference speakers. They are 5x7/6x8 component speakers which I will be replacing the front speakers with and ripping out all the Mach 460 stuff. You guys got any tips or suggestions on ripping out all the stock stuff?

I got a suggestion. Rip it all out and replace everything or dont do anything. mach 460 is pretty well integrated.

Well I already planned on ripping everything out since the stock system was messed up when I got the car. I now have an aftermarket deck, rear speakers and will be adding the new components. Just wondered if there was anything difficult I should know about or look for when ripping out the stock stuff other than unplugging the amps, and harnesses, and pulling out all the wires.

the stock amps on aftermarket speaker should sound horrible. They arent very compatible with the amps. Something about the type of ground that it uses or something. All I know is that when I bought speakers and hooked them up to the stock amps it had BAD distortion. I bypassed the amps and ran straight wire from the deck to the speakers and it sounded 100x better. To get better sound than factory you should buy at least a 4-channel amp for the speakers and I would def. get a subwoofer and 2-channel amp to go with it.

Well I wasn't planning on hooking up aftermarket speakers with the stock amps. Everything is coming out and I picked up a 4 channel amp on ebay. So hopefully this weekend I will get everything pulled out and the new stuff installed. I will have components up front, 6x8s in the rear, everything amped, and then call it a day. I don't think I really need a sub cause I dont want to add weight and I really dont need a lot of bass.
