Default Applying 3M side stripes

Just got my stripes in and I need some expert advice or opinions on what to do next:

I've never done this before, but I did do my bumper inserts w/o too much trouble.

I've checked out websites on how to install the stripes ( squeegie first, peel, etc,).

I am semi-confident I can do it myself But:

I don't have a lift to get eye level with the side of my car.
I don't have a shop to park it in and my garage is full of junk. no parking in there.
I'm not really sure if i can keep out the dirt and/or dust level when applying.

I guess what I want to know is What would you do? Should I get a detail shop to do it? How much would I have to pay for this? And last but not least the stripe needs to be cut to make room for the letters. BTW where it normally would say mustang it say's 4.8 L V8.

Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.. It's not a very expensive thing to scrap in case I screw it up. but I want it to look good and last for a while too..

i just put a pair almost exactly the same on my stang, i definently reccomend you 2 have someone else help you with it took me and my buddy over 2 hours to get em on. we tried one using the soap method and one using the straight stick method. neither of which are easy. just take your time on it and have patience cause it aint fun make sure to clean the area well using dish soap. it is definently worth the hassle as i think they look great...

thanks for that info . I have seen so many different techniques for doing this. Wet application seems the way to go. (if I do it myself). I may find a shop to do it, but I have seen where even reputable detail shops have screwed up the 3 sided decals. it looks easy enough, but that can be deceiving, for one because I would be on the ground the whole time. Lol putting my chin spoiler on bout wore my old knees out.. :homework:

Getting help from a friend is a must. Since people tend to misjudge straightness, it always helps to have second perspective. Or if you don't have any friends, lol, you can always use one of those laser levelers.

i put the decal on the side of my car and id say the only thing you have to worry about is getting all the little air bubbles out of it.........just use enough watter and soap and you should be able to slide it around easy enough.....and yes....get someone elses perspective while doing this. :toothy12:

With the side stripes you can line it up with the bottom of the door then it should be pretty easy.
