Default Cleaning up the No spoiler look ??

Okay, so Today I'm either going with a no-spoiler, or moved back spoiler look...I'd prefer no spoiler, but when I took the wing off there was a ring of dirt-like material around where the edge of the spoiler was, I tried washing it off, compounding, and polishing, but it is still there and is very noticeable.... did anyone else have something like that when they took off their spoiler? if so I'd love to know how you removed it because it's a PITA.. oh and, I also have 2 deep circular scratches in the paint where the foward-most screw sat, any ideas for that? Sanding and touch up paint maybe?

This sucks!

I dunno how to get off that dirt...the circular scratches might need to be touched up, wet sanded and buffed. Good luck and Wingless FTW!!! (sorry wnracing..lol)

Well.. I don't exactly have the funds at the moment to repaint the entire trunk just because of some stains...since I just ordered some stuff. Nor a tool to buffer with besides hand-buffing, yikes. I guess for now I may just keep the spoiler on till I figure out a way to get the crap off, I'll get a pic of how it looks...

The water won't go into the trunk through those holes..there's a mote-like thing going around the trunk that empties the water next to the tail lights, and there's rubber all around where the trunk lays when it's closed so it acts as a seal, = dry.

So... no one else has any ideas on that thing?

My friend said some Meguirs paint cleaner may work, or a clay bar...but there's wax on the car now so I'd have to wait for either of those to happen..

I took the wing back off for now, to see how it is...still has the holes and ugly miscoloration though.

You could try a clay bar and polish using a polisher and cutting pad. But Id take it in, get the holes filled and repaint the trunk lid.

I had the same discoloration in front of the holes on my wing when I moved mine back. After trying to get it off for 15 minutes with water and soap, I used some really strong rubbing alcohol and it took it right off. Also try a clay bar if that doesn't work.

Tried a claybar, no success.
