Alternate Chin Spoiler Attachment.
Hey folks.
I dont know who else has had trouble with thier chin spoilers, but i have. The clips that came with the chin spoiler i got from Ford were a joke, i hit a dip a bit faster than expected and the front of the chin seperated and made my car look like it was smiling.
I bought new clips and it kept sagging, getting that 1/8th of an inch gap.
So i got some self tapping screws and drilled it in, that lasted great untill one night i got too drunk to drive and my buddy drove me and had to stop for some smokes, and pulled to close to the curb and busted the chin spoiler again so it was once again hanging.
Well, i replaced my bumper and had to get some double sided sticky foam for the SS inserts once i got em removed and cleaned up.
I got the idea to use a bit of this double sided sticky foam between the bumper and the chin spoiler and DAMN it is SECURED!!!!!!!!!!!
It is by Scotch, it is the indoor/outdoor grade double sided sticky tape, it has red backing and is a dark grey color. it is weather and water resistant, and it holds NICELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is WAY better than the crap that comes with the grill delete.
You can get it at any home depot at thier adhesive section. It is pricey, i spent 35 bucks for a whole roll. they have smaller rolls for about 8 bucks which is probably enough to do the whole chin spoiler.
Anyways, if any of you have had the same Chin Spoiler drama that i have, this stuff holds better than any clip or self tapping screw.
It has been on a week now and i am totally stoked with its adhesive quality.

I used about 6 self tapping screws and then I used those plastic push pins or clips for all the rest of the holes and mine hasnt moved at all I used the scews to achor it around and then the push pins to make the rest of it stay in place. I have no complaints. I also got bigger push pins than the 3 sent with the kit I got, I went with 1/4 push pin and they are about 1.4 inchs long so they have lots of bite as well.

LOL, ok rather than cause a potential smack talk session which i don't have patience for, i dont think you can rip it off with yer bare hands mr mustang2002, not that i think yer a puss or nothing, but the grip of this **** is down right phenominal, if you grab it with yer hands and attempt to rip it off, i bet 100 bucks that instead of ripping off the spoiler you break and rip up the front fascia. i bet the fascia's strength will give out before the adhesive. Im gonna have to try this when i swap bumpers here soon, however, i only used 1inch square pieces where the screws went. When i get the new bumper on im putting it alll the way across solid.
kind of like wood glue. if you use some halfway decent wood glud and glue 2 boards together and let it cure then try to break em, the break will not happen where the wood glue is.
the only way i see it coming off will be with picture hanging wire used as a saw between the fascia and chin spoiler, then clean it up with 3m adhesive remover.
pulling with bare hands, i bet it will rip up the facia.
