Default Incredible Wax Products

As an old fart, I have been cleaning and detailing cars for years...longer than some of you have been filling your diapers. I am no pro, in fact nobody has ever paid me for a job, though they should have (lol).

I think I have tried just about everything. Truthfully, my decision to use the products I use depends a lot on the car I drive and how I use it. For example, my 2005 Chrysler Mini Van gets hand waxed about twice per year. Most of the rest of the time, it goes through the dreaded car wash. My 2002 Suburban is soo freaking big, my arms would fall off doing that bad boy, so I use products like Eagle One Wax As You Dry just to minimize the effort, but keep her looking decent.

Now, my Mustang, well she is special.

For the past year, I have been using the Three Step Maguires Process with a topper of Tech Wax about every 2 months. The car is only driven in nice weather and stored in the winter. Between waxes, I use things like Maguires Quick Detailer and the Tech Wax Booster.

Recently, I had some body parts re-painted, so I gave the car the once over. I used some different products, and the results are beyond belief. I was shocked to say the least. I am writing this not as a detailing expert, but as a review of these products. My total investment for chemicals (just for the outside) for this job was about $135, so they are pricey. But, the bottles will do many cars. This was not buying in bulk, just what the ingredients and towels run. Oh by the way, I cheapened out and could have spent even more money:

1 - Sonus Clay Bar and Glide - After washing the car with dish soap, I used the Sonus Clay Bar. OMG! While I think all claybar systems are about the same, I can not speak enough about the results. Your car will not be clean until you use one of these. They take all the oxidation and the like off of the car. The paint was completely smooth when I was done. You will need LOTS of lube or glide. I used most of the bottle, but the clay will last for repeated use.

2 - Sonus Paint Cleaner and Polish - Wipe down the car after the clay bar. If you can, just re-wash it. Then, wipe on this stuff liberally with a micro-fiber weave style sponge. It smell like dial soap, which made me suspicious, but this is the most wonderful product of it's kind. Holy Crap!!! After applying, you can buff right off with a micro-fiber towel. It buffs off easily and makes an incredible, deep shine. You feel as though you should be done at this point, but you are not.

3 - KLASSE All - In -One (or, AIO). I then used a dry micro-fiber (weave style) sponge and added this product. This is another cleaner, but contains acrylic. This is a sealer that will make an emazingly deep bond to the car's surface. This product is what gives your shine some depth and resistance. It's like pouring liquid plastic on the surface. I did not see much appreciable change in the shine after using this, but an increase in depth.

4 - KLASSE Sealant Glaze (or, SG) - This stuff is a pain. You must use this very lightly as it is a pain in the butt to buff out. You can add 2-3 costs if you want. The SG is all acrylic and continues to add depth. Best results are if you waite 24 hours between coats to allow the product to properly cure.

5 - P21S - This is about the highest grade of carnuba you can buy. Goes on like butter and buffs right out easily. Two toppers of this and you are done. Don't expect the carnuba to last long, but you can't beat the results. Some have reported amazing results following this process and using Tech Wax as the topper. That should work too and might last longer.

Enjoy!
