It takes me about an hour per coat of wax, plus the time it takes me to wash the car and clay bar it. The wheels/ tires take 5 min each. So Id say about 5 hours or so just for the exterior. All those sites I listed in my write up sell the porter cable. Autogeek sells a couple good kits and you can get it at amazon.com.

If I clay my car I can have it washed clayed washed dried, polished and waxed in 2 hours with one coat of each. It doesnt take that long if you have a porter cable...
5 hours is rediculous. Do you fall asleep while doing it?

5 hours is not rediculous at all. Like I said I learned from a professional (in person) and thats about how long they take. Now Im not saying Im a professional, but thats just how I do it. Maybe I just pay more attention to detail? When applying the wax about how much of the car do you cover? If I went non stop I could probably get it done in about 4. People also pay me to do their cars and I make a good amount of money doing it. They love the way their cars come out so Im happy.
