Power out of little mods?
#2
Welcome to the site. I am gonna move your thread. By "Power Adders" we mean turbos, nitrous, and super chargers.
Now, to your question. Cheap mods? Or, Cheap mods that actually work? What do you mean by cheap? I am going to assume you mean less than a $200, ok?
With that in mind, that does not leave you with much especially since you have a Bullitt. Us GT guys can spend money on the upper intake, but you already have the best one available. People kill for that Bullitt intake.
Basically, you are left with the following:
1 - K&N Filter: They cost about $40 and will net you about 2 - 3 hp.
2 - Cold Air Intake: This is a debatable mod. CAI's can be as cheap as $50 or as much as $300. On your car, if you spent about $100, you might get 5 - 8 hp.
3 - Under Drive Pullies: These cost about $200 for new ones, but they are easy to find used. Only get Steeda's or SLP's IMO. This is a proven mod that will net 5 - 10 hp
4 - O/R X Pipe: They are as cheap as $150 new and are good for 10 - 15 hp. Best bang for the buck mod. But, your car may not pass emissions. You can get catted X Pipes, but they cost more and you will get about the same gains.
5 - Used Chip: SCT Chips cost about $325 new. I have seen used ones for $150, but you will need to pay for a programmer to tune it (about $50). They are good for about 8-15 hp.
Well, that is about it as far as cheap mods go....that work that is.
