Probability of my stock block getting 400 HP
when i get home from iraq and california i'm going to install a p1-sc procharger, slp headers, mid pipe, 75 mm TB, and plenum. i would like to get it tuned by mph but driving 12 hours is a long way. nobody from here has hooked me up with any tuners in the tri state area. im wondering with my current mods and 10-12#'s if it is a good possibility that i will see a number close to 400 or higher with a tune that is only safe to run at the track not for daily driving.

Im not sure if your question is, will my block handle 400rwhp or can I make 400rwhp with this set up. If your wondering if itll handle it, I wouldnt go too far over 400rwhp even if your only using it at the track. Will the car make 400rwhp, I dont know, you should talk to Tim since you want to get it tuned down there.

i would like to make 400 rwhp and i would like to stay relatively local for a tune, but people say tim is good at what he does on the dyno. i have a auto i will be changing out for a 4r70w with my stock valve body once i get a convertor. i heard about the 400 430 rwhp mark for 2 valves that they wont last to long before the internals start to break down or just give up. i just been looking at most 2000 gt that have the same setup and they only make about 370 rwhp. i know my auto and 373's will hurt my numbers some.
i know our engines dont like high amounts of boost all the time. thats why i chose a centri. these start to pick up high boost around 4k. of course when i get a tune ill have the sct 4 poistion switch so i can have different tunes with different pulleys. should i worry about what numbers my car puts out on a dyno or should i let my track times speak for my power? the way my car is now i run a 13.5, so if i have about 120 130 more horsepower and torque that should yeild me a low 12 sec pass. im not expecting my car to be done till about mid oct. so i wont really have that much time at the track to get used to my car and its new found power until next spring. cecil county gets packed and at times you only get 3 runs in.

400 rwhp is pretty safe with a good tune. It is getting up near the limit so there is always a possibility of breaking something. I'm sure a stock clutch will not last very long. (mine lasted 3 weeks on the boost)
I put down 371 hp and 355 ft lbs at the wheels on a mustang dyno with a very conservative tune. That should be around 460 ponies at the crank or 420 at the wheels on a dynojet

I would check out Modular Depot 2V SOHC Forum and Corral GT/SOHC Forum
Both forums have gobs of information from people that have been there and done that. Alot of times these forums can be impersonal until you get to know some people...then it's alright. Just register and utilize the search function. All the info you could ever need.
Hope that helps

All of the links below are for places in PA and Jersey that have Dyno Jets. Many of them are also SCT dealers. They should all beable to help you tune a Mustang.
