found a nitrous kit for sale on another forum- guy diddnt state whether is was a dry or wet system he just said it was a "direct injection system". I know thers a few ppl on here with a good nitrous background- im guessing a direct injection system is similar to what a dry system is? i dont know im not familiar with it like i said so im asking around here for some clarification! thanks guys

Direct port kits inject nitrous (not NOS) into the cylinder instead of going threw the manifold like a fogger or plate setup do. Its safer for backfires and gives you a better even mix of nitrous to each cylinder. Direct port kits can be either dry or wet, but are almost always wet cause its easier to tune with and makes more power.
What kit is he selling the NOS (the company) mustang 4.6 direct port kit?
Officer4c13- a wet nitrous system sprays fuel along with nitrous into the motor, where a dry system injects just nitrous (hence calling it dry) and the injectors add the extra fuel. A wet kit doesn't need a injector upgrade while dry kits almost always require injectors and fuel pump upgrades to supply enough fuel. Hence why most go wet as its easier and makes more power more times. Also you don't need a tune for smaller shots on wet kits.

ive heard you can do a 75-100 shot on a stock motor without a tune--im a little apprehensive about nitrous on my car with 90k miles on it..anybody think thats to many miles for nitrous? and he did not state which kit it is but will get back to me asap.

Its called nitrous not Nos. Nos is a company that sells nitrous kits, this isnt the F&F.
You can spray a totally stock car and its fine. The total amount of nitrous you can spray varies on the size of the motor. Most V8s stock can handle 150shots max. The general rule of thumb is 20hp per cylinder is max on a stock motor. most people dont do this as they are afraid of tossing a motor.

Its more difficult then a fogger setup for sure, and has alot of extra parts over a fogger setup that must be installed. But I know of people pushing 250-300shots threw that kit. However your stock motor isnt gonna want more then a 150hit max. A cheaper and simpler fogger or NX plate kit would be a better choice for you i think.
How much does he want for the NOS direct port kit?

I'd pass and get a New or used fogger setup from someone else for alot cheaper and have an easier install and cleaner install to boot. You can get new fogger setups for anywhere from $425-$600 for Efi Ford cars and trucks. My Compucar nitrous kit was only $435 new with nitrous pressure gauge and full bottle. Just my thoughts.
