How much boost will a factory composite/plastic intake handle before it leaks or cracks or whatever?

it can handle more than youll be able to give it. Those plastic intakes have been put under more pressure at the coolant passage than boost. I wouldnt worry about it. There IS a limit to the amount of boost, but its well over say 20-30psi....
