This is true!!!!!

03DSG 02-12-2007 02:22 PM

I agree with jack....I wish people wouldn't elect or chose not to elect politicians because of stupid ass rhetoric. This country needs a hard ass guy(whom ever it may be) who is not afraid to tell it straight about how things really are. But the sad part is, he wont get elected, even though thats what we need. Sure getting re-elected is what every politician wants, but sometimes it makes a good guy worthless because what he may say or does is not the right thing as people percieve it should be, even though its what we really need.

Everybody needs to wake up a little bit and realize sometimes the hard road is the better road..for us all. I look at john edwards who came out and said that he'll raise taxes. holy shit, thats politcial suicide.....but we may need that to some extent, but no one wants to admit it....because...they wont get re-elected. and many people think that cutting taxes helps us all. well i guess its how the cuts are done and how raising them is done, its a balance. what is the right way, i dont know, but i do know someting needs to be done.

to many people are talkers and we dont have enough doers period. I just wish more people realize this. everyone wants something for nothing, and that isn't how things really are. we have gotten fat and lazy as a country and forgotten that sometimes a little bit of sacrifice goes a long way to the greater good. we have become engrossed in hot button issues like constitutional amendment banning gay marriage...wtf i dont care if two guys or girls want to do that, it doesn't affect me what so ever. if they want to be gay and married ok, it doesnt cause me to lose my job or affect my ability to buy a house or a car. or terry shiavo...goddam congress passed a law to affect ONE man..thats total bs. and today anna nicole smith is all over every news channel still, i dont give a **** about her, her baby or any of her shit..that should've been a 30 second story tops...move the **** on. people die in this country everyday, why dont we afford them coverage as well. istead we focus on some overly rich half retared bimbo who couldn't win a first grade spelling bee and also doesn't even know who the father of her own child is....WTF..

ok my :2cents: is over.....:2gunsfiring1:

i'm just messing around

I'm glad you guys see it the same way i do. I just sooooo fed up with the bs in this country and I blame the modern media for a lot of it. They turn nothing into a great big something, i bet they could get a national ban on pop tarts if they wanted too. One thing i would love to see is a nation wide forum for regular americans to ask high ranking, i do mean high rank officials direct questions. My questions wouldn't be about the war or whose fault it is,,thats old shit. I would ask why no car made in the USA is allowed to be shipped to and sold within japan, china and south korea. but they can send (excluding china) millions of cars here to be sold. or why japan is allowed to purposefully de-value its currency and provide subsaties (sp?) to its car producers which in turn allows them to be sold here for less than they are acctually made for? and if i get some bs, tip toe around the bush answer I would say, " are you going to answer my question or not!, cause if your not why the **** do you have the job you do?" thats the type of questioning these guys need, not a room full of reporters who stick to wrong topics and ask questions that dont matter to you and I.

I get so tired of hearing about who caused the war or who messed up 4 years ago...forget it, its over, done in the past. We need to move on and start righting the ship and stop pointing fingers. we need to stop saying its the dems, or its the gop...we all ****ed up...period...lets move on and work together. last time i checked, we are ALL americans, and we ALL have a duty to help each other out. we need to toughen up on a lot of things, trade, tax loop holes, out of country outsourcing and ass-****ing the middle class...that has got to stop among all things. we are a nation built and sustained on the shoulders of the middle class. without us this nation comes to grinding hault, period.

+1

with the exception of the Outsourcing, thats the best thing for America and it's trading partners...Walmart wouldn't exisit without outsourcing and neither would hundreds of company's...ie the higher the profits for these company's the better chance they have of earning a high Net Income and eventually moving toward expansion.

We would be the laughing stock of the world if Hilary or any other woman gets elected President. It is not always just about us as a nation. We are a dominant part of this world and others across the world do look up to us (some do, some don't). And in some cultures, it is not a cultural belief to do business with a woman. You have to consider that having a woman leader may hurt us in our worldly efforts, not necessarily for war, but just generally trade and other business. And as for a minority based on race or national origin or whatever, I just believe that someone from the majority should lead. A president should be someone that represents the majority of the populace, hence why we have an election and the person getting the majority of the votes wins.

Sooooorry that the white man happened to be the one that founded this nation and guided it through a revolution and helped it grow into the great worldly power that it is today. We got in this whole terrorist situation mainly because of our liberal immigration policies. If you don't let all these freakin' people come over here crowding us up, we would be in a much better situation. While we do have economic growth as it is, we would be much more economically better off if we could get the population growth lower (lower the number of immigrants for starters), relative to growth of GDP.

I could rant all day. Bottom line, everyone has their beliefs and they are entitled to them. I have laid it out there what I believe, as much as possible in a setting such as this and I stick by everything that I say. If it offends someone, oh well, they can get the f*** over it.

I'll finish by saying that each day that draws closer the likelihood of Hilary getting elected is another day that passes that makes Canada look more and more appealing. I could probably deal with Obama more than I could Hilary, but I'll take Guiliani when given the opportunity to cast my vote.

I agree, you should go to Canada! You can hang out with all of the WHITE French people up there... ha ha ha....I respect your right to express your views, and that's what makes this country great, but if the rest of the world doesn't want to "deal" with a woman then they can kiss our ass cause they NEED us way more than we need them so they'll just have to get over it.

I do agree with your last statement though....Obama>Guiliani>Hillary....Again, I just don't think Guiliani is "Republican" enough for that party....he's too much in the middle and probably isn't enough of a bible thumper.

Are you on crack? Outsourcing is good for america?

Sending Jobs that AMERICANS could have so a company can get some tax cuts, pay less, and NOT reduce the cost of thier product?

I dont see how reducing jobs in america, ESPECIALLY in the technical industry which provides income for so many middleclass familys, could ever be considered a good thing.

Keep jobs in america. It doesent matter if i can get a product for cheaper if i dont have a job to pay for the product with.

Yeah we can take the attitude that the rest of the world can kiss our ass, but the fact of the matter is, we are part of the global economy and if we alienate ourselves, we will hit a major downturn in the economy, making life here hell like it was back in the great depression. These issues have to be taken into account when choosing a leader, bottom line, end of story.

As for what you said about Guiliani, that is why I would vote for him. I heard him speak that first night on Fox News when he announced he was running and all the issues he spoke about, I agreed with him 100%.

It's all about scarcity. Why waste our resources on things that others can produce for much cheaper? By outsourcing, our resources can be focused on other things, helping the economy grow. That's how we as a society gain wealth.

Another thing. You have to remember where the company (most companies) get their capital for operations in the first place: the stockholder. The responsibility is the protect the shareholder. By saving the money they do through outsourcing and other cost cutting techniques, the shareholder benefits, gaining wealth, which in turn can then be pumped back into the economy in one shape or another, and thus the economy flourishes.

the fact is that outsourcing jobs such as IT and textiles helps company's cut costs...once they cut costs they can reinvest their funds into becoming bigger and better company's (the whole idea of pleasing the shareholders...)

what does this mean for the american worker...go to college and get a better degree so you can keep up, the blue collar of the future is guna be able to type in java and have been through atleast 2 yrs of college or vocational school...

the facts don't lie, to be honest I used to be against it, but once I looked at the facts, they really don't lie...IT is going to be the next biggest outsourcing market...

Where did you get your education on economics? high school? you just contridicted yourself... immigrants, esspecially those of lower income 3rd world countries ie. South America...have a very positive impact on the American Economy...This is the one thing Bush has gotten right... heres how it works...Irish men come in to America 1800's...they're the lowest of the low taking low paying jobs and working for less then others....then come the hispanics...they work for very little and do the jobs most people wouldn't want to do... I mean if you work at McDonalds or some low paying job, then yea your guna hate hispanics for taking your work...so here's what you do...you go back to school, get a good education and apply for a higher paying job with your new schooling...

So economically, immigration is a good thing...socially well then you might have your issues...

point: without cheap immigrant labor (illegal or legal) the cost of so many things including real estate would sky rocket...believe me company's will only pass on thier losses to the customer, you think the oil company's would keep the price down of oil, even as drum prices rise...

96TangerineBossGT 02-12-2007 10:38 PM

But population growth is what eats away at economic growth. That is what is wrong with a lot of countries, especially Africa. Their population growth is vastly greater than their GDP growth, and thus they are poor. The economy cannot support the population. I was simply making a statement that lowering the number of immigrants coming to America would slow our population growth and help with realizing the growth of GDP.

As for needing cheap labor, there are plenty of AMERICANS living on the street or sitting in jail cells that could provide labor services, improving their standard of living (clearly a death row inmate would not be allowed to work at McDonald's but I am positive that there would be some government projects or whatever that they could be put to work doing). Why bring in immigrants to support when our own people who were already here are suffering?

Keep jobs in america. It doesent matter if i can get a product for cheaper if i dont have a job to pay for the product with.

I also forgot to add, the actual percentage of people who've lost their jobs due to outsourcing is very small compared to the people who have gained new higher paying jobs because of vocational schools...

Look no one likes to see a family member loose their job here because someone in a foreign country can do it cheaper, but the law of comparative advantage says a country should produce those products for which it has an absolute advantage over another...ie produce what you can produce the most of with out giving up the ability to produce something else...

this is why our market is so highly evolved around technology, financing, and biotech...we're not exactly sellin rice to China...

Another positive benifit with this is as follows: your a poor farmer or w/e in say Nepal...all of a sudden your given a job working in a factory making bobble heads that will be sold in Walmart stores all around the country...your pay is equal or greater to the average pay per household in Nepal...however compared to an American income, and if you do the exchange rate, yeah someone in nepal is workin for 2 bucks a month which sounds rediculous, but when you value 2 dollars there it's average...

in many country's such as India and China were the population growth is rediclous there aren't enough jobs to satisfy the market, thus the market is flooded with potential workers...ie the lowest bid worker is the one thats guna get the job...this is how prices are kept so low... eventually though this added income helps the foreign economy grow, which is what we're seeing in both India and China...

Most of the company's who outsource are included in the GNP which measures all of the American made money, were as GDP is just whats made in the US...

OMG we agree on something LMAO....

although i do have to add, there is also an issue of who exactly is the shareholder...ie alota speculations as far as Saudi money in the Bush and other american company's...

neone seen Syriana? Great movie but it basically depicts a possible scenario...

nah, if that were true China and India would be the worst nations in the world... the problem in Africa is corrupt rulers and lack of infastructor. There's plenty of money and food that doesnt go to the people but too the rulers...

there aren't enough inmates to make a significant impact in the economy assuming such a plan was even feasible...and if it was just a matter of poor americans...there aren't enough of them either that are willing to take these low paying jobs in teh first place...

by the way if you head to www.Dol.gov and look up the statistics the current unemployment rate is 4.6%...thats a .4% improvement from the natural rate of unmployment..which means more people are employeed now then on average...the reality is hispanics really don't effect al those low payin jobs like you think they do...

For the most part I agree....I understand we are a major player in a global economy, but I honestly don't think the world can hate us anymore than they already do.....the rest of the world HATES Bush so I don't think having a woman as Prez could be worse.

I hate to break it to you, we are ALREADY the laughing stock of the world. Bush has certainly made sure of that. Besides most civilized countries could care less if we have a woman president., besides you being a conservative I am kinda suprised you care what other countries think of us. Btw just so you know I voted for Bush twice and I lean to the right side of the middle so I am definatly no liberal.

Last time I checked white people where immigrants too :) Now I do agree with you to some extent, I think we should definatly try to hault the illegal immigrants, but if someone comes to the US through the proper channels then more power to them.

That being said if we want to stop illegal immigration, we need to go after the people who employ them. Come down harsh on the businesses and they will stop hiring them.

I'll finish by saying that each day that draws closer the likelihood of Hilary getting elected is another day that passes that makes Canada look more and more appealing. I could probably deal with Obama more than I could Hilary, but I'll take Guiliani when given the opportunity to cast my vote.

Canada is WAY far left, so if you are not a Hillry fan I woudlnt go to Canada. Besides is even colder and more snowy up there. I would go to the Bahamas or something.

But I really dont think you have much to worry about, I dont think either one will have much of a shot. Either McCain or Guiliani would beat them pretty easily. I think the republicans understand that in order to win this comming election they need someone middle or the road and are smart enough to get someone who is.

The Old Soldier

One sunny day in 2009, an old Solider approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue,
where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said,
"I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."
The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here."
The old Soldier said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would
like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton".
The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Clinton is not President and
doesn't reside here."
The man thanked him and again walked away . . .

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying
"I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."
The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the
third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I've told you already several
times that Mrs. Clinton is NOT the President and doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?"
The old Soldier answered, "Oh, I understand you fine, I just love hearing your answer!"
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

Coyote's are never going to go away, illegal immigrants are illegal because the U.S. has set the allowable rate of Hispanic immgrants each year so REDICULOUSLY LOW, and conditions in many areas of south America are so poor. Lemi put it this way, illegal immigrant sends money home, eventually the home country gets enough money to build a stable economy. It no longer is worth the price of sneeking into America because there are enough well paying jobs in South America... the problem fixes itself.

And again, IMO the whole focus on border security and why so many people don't want immigration is because they know their low paying jobs will be at risk. You don't see a whole lot of wealthy people talking about immigrants talking their jobs...

IMO the best way to fix the security issue is to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants and allow them to register for work visa's. This way they can help themselves by being guarenteed a little bit higher wage and won't be considered such a security risk. There will be less of a reason to cross the border illegally, if you could just walk across with a pass.

Well that is definatly not a concern for me, especially since I own the company :)

The illegal imigration pose a big problem with the health care system, insurance system, and even to some extent welfare/governemnt assistance. If someone comes into a hospital, especially a non-for profit hospital they have to give them medical care insurance or not. There is no way to get that money back. Hell the hospital my wife works at is moving to the north side of town because the ER is flooded with people who cant pay for care so they are mvoing to a better part of town where people have insurance.

I am not worried about taking the lower paying jobs, hell the legal imigrants take those jobs. I am not especially concerned about losing jobs that mainly high school kids and idiots flipping burgers had.

There are many other ways illegals imapact us other than just jobs.

However I also have a problem with not being able to understand the guy or gal trying to sell me something or when I am ordering food.

I like the cold weather, and I think I have made it pretty clear that the issue is not that I don't agree with Hillary's ideas or platform or whatever, the issue is that she is a woman. Have you been keeping up...lol??

As far as free health care, thats been a problem already regarding the poor...and I could care less that some poor doctor is giving up hrs to help someone who doesn't have the money to pay him/her a rediculous amount of money...

I don't wana get to far into the health care system in America but seriously...don't tell me things are reasonably priced...how is it that Canada has a better system then we do...

No offense but the Canadian system isnt all peaches and cream. They have some of the same issues do. Sure its a "free" system but if you do not have supplemental (see expensive) insurance your wait for certain procedures can be months. It is not perfect or even close. Just because you dont get charged even if you are poor doesnt mean you get the same care as the guy who can afford extra protection.

Grimms, nobody gives a shit that immigrants work low paying jobs. What concernts a lot of people are the points 04DarkShadowGT made plus the fact they are living in MY county and NOT paying taxes.

If it were up to me?
Only requirements for legalization, with no cap.

1) Clean criminal record
2) Must speak english, not broken english, not spanglish, but be able to speak fluent english.
3) Must be willing to pay taxes.
4) Must complete a course on american history.

If they can agree and comply with those 4 items, WELCOME TO AMERICA!

Any immigrant who will not agree to those terms? well, i knnow my grandad shoots trespassers who wander onto his ranch without permission.

:salook:

Oh yeah, and yeah sure, if a doctor wants to give his time to work at a free clinic and take care of illegal aliens who get hurt, that his his perrogative, however, the meds that the illegals get are paid WITH AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS.
