Like for instance, on the center of the hood where it dips in, if the stripes were made straight then they wouldnt turn out straight on the outsides once you put them over the bends, because it would have to cover a little more area climbing up the bend. I am thinking about trying it myself. I am very meticulous and good with designing and stuff like that, so i think i could do it. Any more suggestions on putting them on?

As far as stripes on curves trick is to apply heat so it can stretch out so it can fit around the curves. You can apply heat to stripe so it can dry quicker but care must be taken as you dont want to over due it and mess it up. The water, dawn and alchohol solution is your friend and dont be afraid to use alot the more the better. Trick is to use the included squeegy to squeeze all the water and air out. After you are all done wait 24hr make sure car is in sun and look at all the stripes if they are any air pockets or bubbles get a pin and make a small hole and remove air. The most improtant part is to measure correctly as a you will be able to tell if its not on straight.
