Reminds me back on stangnet, 97v6silver, what a character! we had this entire thread he started about change he got from BK and he even posted a pic of the receipt, thinking it was wrong, turns out it was right and he just cant subtract, we ended up putting that as his title!
I know its not a vinyl, but we mentioned those vinyls (the ones my friend has) on here before (autobadges.com has them) and this reminded me of uber-black-tails :tongue3:

The person who I talked to who does the smoking tail lights said that those are very cheesy and you can still see some red along the edges since it doesnt cover those areas. Your better off spending an extra 60 and get them painted and clearcoated. I saw and felt one and it was very smooth and looked very clean and factory.

You could go this route and use some VHT Nite-Shade Lens Black out.
VHT-SP999 is the model number through SummitRacing. Its $12 for a decent sized aresol can. I used this along with some aresol clearcoat on top. I think it looks really good considering its just rattle canned on.

as for the vinyl stuff (the link is the same stuff different place) no, you can see any red around it, even with my crappy vinyl installing abilities, it was easy as pie. It looks AWESOME when you are done and completely black during the day, and at night they still light up almost as good as stock, lol, we did a comparison when we were half way done with the install (lucky us we were doing it at midnight) and there was little difference in the lights. They just look awesome and it would be kool if i could do something like that to my car, maybe... that aresol can thing would be kool, if i could remove my bezel and just paint that portion, maybe tape up my back up lights to give it a little contrast like mustangmike's

What about at night when you are riding around and dont have your break pedal pushed, can you still even see any light? Just seems dangerous, and also on the note of the vinyl ones not being good, Ive never seen any pictures where they didnt completely cover the light.

When illuminated they honestly look identical to stock lights. (at least mine do) when theyre off however they give the backend of even my sixer a nice sinister look... :evil3:

I would never do this to my car...if someone rear-ends you, even if it is their fault, you will be the one getting the ticket, and possibly getting sued by the person that hit you for 'covering ' the lighting of your vehicle...be careful guys....

I made a comment to my friend when we were installing them regarding there legallity, and lack of it. I said that the SAE/DOT/Approval marks would still be on the lights, and visible through the film, and no one would ever know the difference! :evil3: mauahahahaha :evil1:
That is, i think the marks are on the lgith right, not on the bezel?

you know what would really clean up the look of the back of your car, is if you tinted your third brake light and either got a black ford emblem or a silver to match up with your reverse lights and letters. but thats just my opinion. i have the email address for the emblem if you want to change it. i put a silver emblem on my car just check my prior posts to find my pics of my car.
