hmmm... i am thinking after all this is said and done, i think that prices for "car parts" and stolen goods will be so low.... ive seen these crazy people on the news looting all the stores... it must be utter chaos over there.


i hope someone sells all the stolen goods on ebay though for low prices....

umm.... thats true, BUT i have also seen those info-shows where the kids are digging through trash and living in the sewers and they ask you to donate to help the kids. and if i was Bill Gates then i would donate millions of dollars. but i am not, so i cant. but i do think that it was a bad thing that happened but you cant change what has happened.

also alot of the chaos is the U.S. National Gaurds fault... thats there job. I know if the U.S. Marines where put in charge you wouldnt have this situation. thats for damn sure. bottom fact is that some (and by some i meen alot) of people were just waiting for something like this to happen so that way "Jarome the thug" could go robb the nearest mall and get away with it.



I dont know... maybe i am just a cold hearted bastard but... you cant save everyone. and admit it... some people DO NOT deserved to be saved... but who can judge...

 

We have not seen the worse of this yet. Yu can NOT expect 5,000 Guard to help 1,000,000 people. Nor could 5,000 Marines do any better.

We have never had a dissaster like this:

1 - Major flooding with no way for water to recede

2 - Fires that burn out of control with no ability to stop them.

3 - An entire city destroyed with so many people affected.


Look for eventually 50,000 - 75,000 soldiers with weapons shooting people on the spot by the middle to end of next week.

I was a combat logistics officer for the Army. I have a sense for what needs to be done. We trained for this stuff, but never envisioned something so large.

 

I agree.Marshall Law needs to be put into effect and all looters will be shot on site.That's harsh but it seems alot of people are taking advantage of this situation.How do they think they are even going to get the stuff out of there.

 

Whoa, whoa, whoa, the National Guard just got there, do you expect them to be able to do anything with a huge natural disaster in just three days? Have you ever served in the Marine Corps or ARNG? If not, you have no place to judge the capabilities of either organization. And its not the "US National Guard." Its the Louisiana National Guard.
Could it have something to do with the fact that the ARNG almost always has outdated equiptment? My unit had got rid of M16A1s only two years ago, a weapon retired from service in 1982. The newest equipment we had were the M9 Bayonets. Gee, thanks. I never planned on using that anyways. Or maybe the fact that we're not professional soldiers, but normal guys who have do drag their asses out of bed at 3am on saturday after a full work week to go play Army games? Or maybe its the fact that this is the largest natural disaster this great nation has ever seen, and the LA ARNG is struggling to keep the peace in a city gone absolutely bat**** insane.
Could the Marine Corps do better? Maybe. Can you compare the Army and the Marine Corps? No, so dont bother.

In response to your question... Yes i am currently in the United Stated Marine Corps Reserves. I am transfering to active duty next month. But I do agree with the stuff you said I think i just phrased my opinion wrong.
