Default Please be real!

So i found this mustang on craigslist for 2900. I emailed the guy thinking he forgot a 0 or something but apparently he gets deployed in a week and needs to sell the car. I know there are some military people on here... why would he have to sell it by a certain date? In all of the pictures he has for it i can't find any damage, and it is a clean title. If it is real I know one thing, I am seeing/driving the car before I pay.... it just seems too good to be true.

Oh sorry... 2003 Cobra with 52k on it

Go out there ASAP and test drive dude, if it runs fine, then **** its hard not to tell. Give it a good look over, and if its legit, do it now.

SCAM! No one not even someone going overseas would do that. I would sell it cheap to get it gone, but that is retarded.

Yeah, I'd take some friends, like a cop friend, and a banker friend. I'd check to see if it's stolen.

If i end up getting a chance I am going to run the carfax, then drive it up here when it gets here for a few miles to get any check engine lights to turn on. I asked him some random questions about how to handle the transaction and why it was listed in N.E. minnesota when he was in indiana because I don't trust people I don't know. I won't give him a dime until all of this is done... and if he wants to sell it that badly he will do it. The biggest flag though honestly was the end of the email... @theusarmy.net.... i thought that all military email was .gov, oh and I googled the name and found a national guardsmen that was killed by that name.
I knew it was probably too good to be true but I really want a V8 to replace my relatively high mile V6 i have a little hope that it is real...

Then again, I also hope I win the lottery the few times I buy a ticket

And for being a Termi why doesnt it have at least the 03/04 Chrome/Polished Rims on there instead of the SN95 Cobras?

Nice eye, i'm still learning in the mustang world... send me an older olds and ill tell you almost anything about it. I know the VIN is a real cobra because i compared it to a book I have that has a list of all vin codes... .. anyways he emailed me back... he wants to use google checkout "escrow" which isn't an escrow service. now I know for sure. Besides, it is way to formal of an email to be real.
It never hurts to check into it though if you don't give information... I know a few people that have gotten nice cars for a good price because for some reason they need to get rid of it quickly.

I have friends who do that.
But since you said that, I noticed it doesn't have the Cobra Hood either.

he probably found someone else's For-Sale ad, got the VIN and is using it on Craigslist for a scam. That domain is nothing but a scam.

http://www.whois.net/whois/theusarmy.net

Why do they need to hide all of their information?

Most of the time when things seem to good to be true, they are. But the few othertimes, ther is just a dumbass behind them. **** even if it is not a true cobra it is supercharged already. It is worth looking into if u got the money. Justmeet out in the open in a mutual place.

Never EVER deal with someone who says the following things in their ad:

"I live in xx and am here in xx for awhile, if you wire me the money the car is yours"
"Give me some money for delivery"
Stuff like that. If you can't see the car in person its a scam.
