Right now I just want to get it fixed up and go from there....either build it or get a GT. I have to wait till tomorrow to go pick it up so I'll get plenty of pics of it and see how bad the $$ is. I just need to get it driveable again (having the door actually shut), then I'll fix it bit by bit. Anyone got some cobra sideskirts they wanna sell?

Sorry to hear that Kevin.. Really, the car doesn't look all that bad, at least not from the pictures you posted.

My advice..

1. Don't claim it on your insurance. You might have to pull your money out of savings, or whatever, but no claim, no neglegent accident, no points for accident.

2. Go to court for the ticket. Explain yourself to the judge, let them know that you were about to order the tires, etc etc etc.. If you don't have any other tickets, I almost guarantee you that they will drop the "careless driving" bs and make you go to traffic school + pay court cost. You should be able to get out of it under $150

JM2C, hope everything turns out OK.

That really sucks man, and just before the new tires. Best of luck getting it fixed. If you take a drivers improvement course your insurance shouldn't go up and no points will be applied to your liscense.

Thats such gnarkill man, you had such a sick V6. I hope you can end up benefiting from the accident and maybe be a step closer to getting a Mach, or at least getting the V6 back to the condition it was in.

Picked up the stang from the impound today, looks like the underbody needs to be fixed badly, door doesn't line up which is also a major problem. Other than that needs a new sideskirt and fender. Taking it to a body shop to see if it's even possible to fix the underbody/door without breaking the bank, if they can't, I'm taking off all of the mods, and calling insurance and seeing if they'll total it. Then I probably won't see myself in a stang for a while because of insurance . I'm not going to fight the ticket because one of the sheriff's claims he has evidence of me driving wrecklessly, and I don't want to make this worse than it already is. And the cop said I could not take any type of course to get rid of the points on my license because of the ticket.

im sorry to tell you but thats far from totaled.

Any shop will put that on a frame strecher and line it back up/bondo the damage.

for your car to be totaled it has to be atleast 40% damaged.

They have to bend the bottom of the car back to how it was, almost at a 45 degree angle from how half of it is, then fix the door. If it's $2,000 to fix a car that's only worth $4,000 insurance probably wouldn't even bother. I don't want it to be totalled, because I don't want insurance to even see it, not all of us can afford this ****.

man even wrecked your car still looks in good condition, lol. Well hopefully all of it works out well. Time to take it off the ins. get the frame fixed, pull the V6 out and drop in a V8 over the course of a year or two. Project car! I see a new dd in your future.

Put it on ebay just like that, if it still has a clean title someone will buy it and fix it.

you'll get hopefully $2,500-$3,000 for it. use that money on a downpayment for a $6,000-$7,000 Mustang GT, your payment will only be like $100-$150 a month.

$2,500-$3000? What are you smoking? I had a '99 v6 running that I sold for $4k. He said it doesn't start, so that knocks it down to like an $800-$1000 car.

I dont see any engine/electrical damage. If ripping off a sideskirt causes a car to not start then i change my mind about ever buying another ford.

Took it to a shop today and they said it would be $1,266.35 for parts/paint labor, but that's just for replacing the outer and inner rocker, and fixing the door, they haven't figured in the damage to the floorplan that needs to fixed, so I'm going to say $1,500. Then a new fender+sideskirt and paint, so $2,000ish. Awesome.........
