Or could it??? For some reason I can't see a panther roaming around a neighborhood, but weirder things have happened.

They aren't in a neighborhood. They are on 5 acres surrounded by woods out in the country.

haha the Chucacabra it lives!!! lol.

but seriously that is some sort of crazed animal to chew up a car like that. I don't care what it is, if it comes back it would certainly have a chance to meet my shotgun.

No news last night. Cage was empty I assume since I have not heard from my parents.

I will go over there again today and see if I can get some better pics. The paw prints are very smeary from the wet grass/dirt. We could not find any tracks on the property.

I am sure my parents got zero sleep last night. The carport is on the other side of the house and the house is longer than most so unless it was extremely loud they would not have heard anything. The weird part is they have a Golden that stays inside so we assumed she would have heard something.

We are all very very baffled...anxiously awaiting DNA!

I went into photoshop and did some adjustments to see if I could find more paw prints by changing contrast. This is what I found.

It's hard to judge the size of those paw prints without any object around for scale, but they do look like a decent size. Definitely not a house kitty.

hell yeah dude. Plenty of black bear in florida. Running around in neigborhoods and ****. They're harmless though. Mostly scared of people, only go through the neigborhoods to eat trash and ****, but I wouldnt put it past one to do something like that to a car.

Not a bear. First of all it would have done more damage, second it was able to get under the car, third those are not bear paw prints.

DAMN!!!

We have a bobcat that lives in the dunes at the beach across the street. Those paw marks look massive though and Bobcats aren't that big.
