My moms Mustang was mauled last night.

Pics are hard to tell how bad it actually is...
Something came onto my parents carport last night and destroyed the front of my moms Mustang. The black pieces everywhere are the remains of her chin spoiler. We are assuming that a cat ran and got under the hood and the animal was ripping the car apart to get to it. Something to have a jaw strong enough to puncture the metal and rip the bumper apart from the metal rivets...I have no idea. When my parents told me on the phone I thought bear but after seeing it I would have to assume it was some pissed off/vicious dog. The sheriff was there when I pulled up and he thinks it was a pit pull. After it hit the Mustang it went after our Jeep. My mom drove the Jeep to work so I couldn't get pics of it. Crazy? I would make sure that a dog wound up dead. . . . Or something would die LOL. That is just screwed up there bro! I have never seen an animal do such a thing!

She was devastated when she walked out this morning. I drove over there before I went to work to check it out. I already told my dad I would come over tonight with the shot gun and wait for it to come back. Whatever it was after it didn't get because there was no blood on the carport. There was blood on the Mustang and Jeep from the thing chewing on the car though.

That's crazy. I would be so pissed, but thankfully mines garaged these days. Definitely not a bear, but thats one crazy ass dog if it was one.

I told them to park my dads truck and the Jeep in the back yard tonight and leave the Mustang. What is the worst that can happen to it at this point? I am afraid it will be back whatever it is.
There are coyotes around our property too so that is an option as well. I just can't grasp a normal dog being that vicious just to get a cat ya know? |

Fuckin' hell, man! What gets to me the most about those pictures is the one with the bite and scratch marks in the fender flare and the part where the fender has all those teeth marks and is peeled away from the body lines.
What irritates me is that the cop automatically assumed it was a pit. Because lord knows, those are the only aggressive dogs on the planet. :rolleyes: It very well could have been a dog that caused that damage. I had a little dog that was part Jack Russell and Daschund, and that little bastard had superstrength, I swear. I used to have to keep him one of those huge metal cages while I was out because he'd go crazy and tear shit up. He actually broke through the cage... this little dog that weighed no more than 15lbs. When I say 'broke through' I mean he literally pried the bars apart and got out. Imagine an inmate just grabbing the bars on his cell door, pulling them apart, and walking out. It was just like that.

Also...look how the chin spoiler was shredded. That is the old one off my Mustang. When I put it on my moms car I attached it with bolts, washers and nuts. I can see it ripping it off with those push pins but to rip something off that is bolted on?

From what I can see, all the punctures are on the bumper which is plastic, but those are some pretty deep looking scratches on the side panels. Hell yes, it would if that were my car. Trouble is, I'd want to kill everything in sight after that! :P |
**UPDATE**
Just got off the phone with my dad. Animal control had stopped by and said it was not a dog. Florida Wildlife Commission stopped by and said it was a dog. They actually gathered DNA from the blood on the headlight and they found hair on the tire. The neighbor has a Boxer so they went next door for questions, etc. They examined the dog for cuts, bleeding etc. and it was fine. The owner did notify them they have had problems with the dogs across the street. Currently animal control is across the street with their investigation...I will try and keep you updated. |
WTF! I read the title and was wondering what you meant by mauled only to come in and find the term to quite literal. That really sucks for your mom. Does your mom have full coverage insurance?

That aint no dog mang. I saw something like this on "monster quest" a minivan was chewed up like that. They did bite pressure testing and found that no dog was strong enough to do that.
Its the fuckin El Chucacabara mang. And why the hell would the police run a pricey DNA test for damage on a vehicle? You pulling our leg a little donnie boy? Lol |

That'd be a really pissed off bobcat to do all that.. Best guess though is - something this super beast was chasing crawled up under into the engine bay.. and superbeast got burnt..and destroyed the car. lol. |
After posting up on some dog forums I am learning it was most likely a Panther. Bob cat is too small for that sort of damage....time will tell.

It could be a panther. Bobcat is too small to do that damage, I think.
