So i woke up this morning, my dog was barking so i looked out the front door, low and behold, this is what i saw. It was dead smack in a residential area. I think they had issues and had to land it. It sat there for a while and made a 50-100 foot hop then deflated..

 

That's pretty damn cool! That wouldn't be too random for me. I live on an ultralite/small aircraft airport so I've actually seen the hot air balloons take off from there and it's not unusual to see and hear parachuters on the weekends.

Now that I look at those pictures a little more, they remind me of the Remax commercials, haha.

 

I hate to be the guy who had that land in my yard..lol!

Im glad im not the only one! I had that happen twice a few years ago. The balloon deflated and covered a big part of my back yard. My dog barked his freakin head off both times. He couldn't bark for 2 days after that.

That's pretty cool, dude. We've got a ton of those flying over my house in the early AM...the fairgrounds where the launch in town is only 2 miles away so they're always out and about. I should go out and take some pictures of it sometime, the whole setup, launch, landing thing is pretty neat.

 

used to fly balloons in my teens. had to land in a lake once. You're totally at the mercy of the wind and how much gawd hates you that day.

I miss living in albuquerque new mexico because of the awesome balloon festivals but everything else about the place sucked lol
